Chance me NEU, BU, and Binghamton

major: ENGINEERING
3.8 GPA (My average for science classes is pretty high; if that matters.)
APs: Chem Calc Physics (My school doesn't offer that many)
Many honors classes
730M 520CR 520W (I know.)
I did pretty well on the NYS standardized tests (Regents)
Member of many clubs and secretary of one
EC's are probably not that great
NHS,
220 volunteer hours as a TA for kids
Essay is probably sub mediocre - mediocre. I'm still editing it.

Can anyone chance me for
Northeastern,
Boston U,
NYU POLY,
Binghamton,
Stonybrook,
Buffalo,

bump…

NEU: Match
BU: Match
Binghamton: Match
NYU Poly: Low match
Stony Brook: Low match
Buffalo: Low match

A 1770 SAT would make NU and BU reaches.

I took it again in Dec, but I’m sure I only improved on writing, which SUNYs don’t even check.

NEU: High Match
BU: High Match
Binghamton: Match
NYU Poly: Match
Stony Brook: Low match
Buffalo: Low match

Do you have any safeties?

I haven’t applied for safeties. Are you sure Binghamton is a match? I heard that school is getting really competitive lately

Where the hell are people getting their info from?

Binghamton and BU are high reaches for you, match for pretty much everywhere else.

Binghamton could be placed as a high match now…

@Xin what about NEU?

Northeastern is a reach with that SAT sry. Id really bank on the other schools

[Academic Profile | Admissions](http://www.northeastern.edu/admissions/apply/profile.html)

BU is also quite a big reach as the average SAT of last year’s class was 2000

[Binghamton University - Undergraduate Admissions - Who Studies at Binghamton- Class Profile](http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/class-profile.html)

^^Binghamton is also a reach at this point

Stony Brook, NYU POLY are matches Id say…definitely not surefire admits though.
I’d put Buffalo at a low match, would be surprised to see you denied there

XinzeLi: First off, there is no need for vulgarity and incredibly rude personal messages.
Second, Binghamton’s average SAT range middle 50% ends at 1800, 1770 is very close to that and they have stated that it should improve at least slightly. Which will probably put them into the range. Binghamton’s average GPA is a 3.3-3.9 which puts them in the upper range. Averaging stats alone they are in the lower/middle, which is classified as a high match or a match, not a reach. My SOURCE (which you called me out on, yet shockingly you did not have either…) is the Binghamton’s website: [Binghamton University - Undergraduate Admissions - Who Studies at Binghamton- Class Profile](http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/class-profile.html)

Third, Boston University’s average 50% range is 1770 to 2050 so dseed falls into that, at the lower end, but still in it. The average GPA is 3.59 and 3.97 which puts them right in the middle. Since one score is on the lower and the other in the middle, that means that they are a high match. NOT a reach. Also Boston U accepts almost 60% of applicants which is quite high and implies that they are not that selective.
My information comes from two incredibly trustworthy sites: [Boston University Overview - CollegeData College Profile](http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg01_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=146) AND [Boston University Admissions: SAT Scores, Financial Aid & More](Boston University: Acceptance Rate, SAT/ACT Scores, GPA) .

Sorry dseed for all of the confusion and different opinions! I hope that this clears somethings up! If you have any questions feel free to ask! I sincerely hope that you get accepted to all of these amazing schools!

^^^outdated, Im sorry but look at the links I provided

NOTE: People also need to remember that GPA plays a large part in college admission! Many colleges give it even more importance than standardized tests!

Community75, they are the exact same link for Binghamton…

Boston University now admits 45%

[Introducing the Class of 2016 | BU Today | Boston University](http://www.bu.edu/today/2012/introducing-the-class-of-2016/)

OK, I do stand corrected that I had info from 2011 (or 2010) instead of 2012 for Boston U and if they only admit 45% instead of the 58% I had seen around, then yes they become a low reach for you! I am sorry, once again, for the confusion!
