Thanks guys! I am trying to make a solid list of safeties, matches, and reaches. This is why I made this second thread! I will chance back!

Try to get your test scores into the ranges you mentioned. Your GPA is already really good, so just keep it up with the 6 upcoming AP classes and it should be really solid.

Your main problem is, although you have lots of diverse ecs, there is a big lack of leadership in your ecs. You’re running out of time, and it takes time to get good quality leadership positions in good ecs. Do what you can with this, but it might be too late.

Overall, I think you’re in a good position for all these schools as long as you get those test scores up. Good luck!

Your GPA is brilliant, and you have a good amount of APs to bolster your transcript. You should try to boost up your scores like said. You have a solid diversity of ECs however, like the above poster, you have a huge lack of leadership in these.

Boosting up those scores will put you in a great position for all the schools you are shooting for.

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1181846-please-chance-me-some-my-dream-colleges-ill-chance-back.html</a></p>

Thanks guys! I am not making excuses, but I moved schools (and states) in the middle of sophomore year, so I couldnt really stay in a club for a prolonged time and then become something like a president :(. But yeah, I am working REALLY hard on the SATs. If I can boost my reading by a bit, I have a shot at the 2350ish range :). Thanks again!!

If you are interested in northwestern vanderbilt or rice (or UPenn) (like really interested) my GC stressed us to apply ED to those schools because they accept so much if the class through the ED period. If you apply ED to one of those, I’d say you’d have a great chance with your stats and story. Same with Emory and wash u and duke (all to a lesser extent though, they don’t take as much ED and after the legacys and athletes IRS almost the sane as RD) but all the others should be admits. But apply to rice/Vandy ED and you’d have a great shot.

@username- Thanks. That is REALLY helpful. Do u think Penn ED is easier than Duke ED?

They are both very helpful and have similar acceptance rates (I’m pretty sure duke wants non-scholarship athletes to apply ED so the coaches boost counts, so for non hook applicants i think Penn might be a bit easier) but Penn accepts over 1-2 of it’s class ED. I think duke and Penn are in the high 20%s, but because you are not trying for Wharton (a ton of people apply ED for Wharton- and space there is limited) I’d say penn should be a bit easier.

yeah I agree with that. Actually, I found out that Duke’s ED rate is 29% whereas Penn’s ED rate is 31.6%. (And Rice is about 34%)

If you apply to Holy Cross, definitely apply under the premed program as I think you’ll have an awesome shot at getting in.
Good luck!

Thanks Jenonymous!

Thanks man! I have actually already chanced you :D

Rice, Vanderbilt and Duke should all be ED, to help your chances. Other than that, you’re definitely a match for the others. Even though you don’t have much leadership in your ECs, you have good diversity in them, and the rest of your stats are good enough to make up for it.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1182696-chance-me-lend-some-advice.html</a></p>
