Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and give me some insight, I really do appreciate it. Please let me know if I left anything out or if I could elaborate on anything.

I also have a question for current students/parents of students/anyone else who may be able to answer this: How hard is it to travel back and forth to campus? I realize that if I am accepted and do attend I won't be going home to NJ often, but I am wondering what my options are and how difficult it is.

I’d be shocked if you didn’t get in. As far as getting to campus, lots of people fly to Chicago then take a CoachUSA bus directly to ND from the airport. It’s really pretty easy. Freshmen aren’t allowed to have cars, but I’m sure there are students with cars driving to various corners of the map for vacations and would welcome company (in exchange for gas money, of course).

thanks so much for the very helpful reply! it looks like you have a daughter applying to colleges this year? Good luck!

If you don’t get in, I don’t know who would.

This school is a match for you!

You look like a shoe-in  My son is currently a junior with many friends from the east coast, and we often give kids rides to O’Hare on our way home (we are from the Chicago suburbs) so that is an option in addition to the motor coach. Flying out of South Bend is very expensive. We have also had many of his friends, both male and female, stay with us for long weekends when they couldn’t get home but didn’t want to stay on campus when everyone else was leaving. You will make lifelong friends at ND :)

thanks so much for the very helpful replies everyone! just a few more days of waiting :)
