Wow great EC’s , the people that I know this year who got into NYU had 3.9-4.0 + but tons of ECs so I def think you make up with those!

Marquette: In
NYU: low reach.
Northwestern:Low reach possible match

Good luck : )

Thanks for the chance, chancing you back.

In at Marquette. Northwestern and NYU are reaches/low reaches, since your ECs look great and can possibly make up for your low GPA, as well as a killer essay and great teacher recommendations.

Hopefully you will most likely get into at least one. I’d say they are both low reaches but your chances are good since you have good ECs.

Your school GPA is not too high, but your ACT is quite solid.
Also, if you have a solid essay for transfer…
NYU would be a low reach or a high match.
Northwestern would be a reach
Marquette would be a safety

Thanks for your chance! But I doubt I can add anything that hasn’t been said. Put a good light on the ECs and you should have an chance at NW and NYU. I think you should apply to more schools also…but I’m afraid I’m not too familiar with good pre-med schools so I can’t help you too much there.

Thanks for the chance- repaying the favor! :)

I think Marquette is a shoo-in; NYU is a low/middling low reach; Northwestern is a kind-of high reach. But then, I know little about transferring between colleges… so I can’t be at all sure.

I think you understand your GPA, so I will move past that.

Your EC’s are great and show your interests, so I think that you have a chance, with Marquette probably being a match

hmmm well marquette is an uber safety. I am well above their stats so i am pretty sure i will get in there. I got in there last year with money so i am really wondering more about NYU and NU. do you think i am crazy way offf? slight chance?..

I’m not too familiar with Graduate school but if it works like Undergrad I’ll give it a shot

I think your GPA is somewhat low for NU, but your ECs and family problems definitely make up for it. NYU should be a high match/low reach, considering everything goes as planned. Marquette is an acceptance for sure.

Good luck!

for the record i am a transfer to undergrad. NOT graduate school

thanks for the reply golfer111 :)

Check out Boston University

Check out Duke! And don’t think state univerisities are below you–I had to learn that the hard way! Carolina has a great medical school; UPenn and University of Michigan have great biology programs

really? you think i could get into Duke? ha that just made my day

ah deadline already passed hadnt thought i even had a chance… :(any other ideas?

NYU- Low reach
Northwestern- reach
Marquette- In

Good luck!

I second what junebug said… Take a look at UNC. They do have a good medical program. Johns Hopkins would also be a good idea, especially if you are looking at public health.

NYU: low reach
Northwestern: reach
Marquette: In :)

Best of luck!

If you are premed why do you care about prestige?

If St. Louis is simply awful to attend, then leave. There’s no point transferring somewhere for the name only and to lose a large scholarship in the process.

Med School doesnt put much emphasis on the prestige of your undergrad. Just bring up your GPA to 3.7 and put some work into the MCAT and show you deserve to be given a seat.

No one honestly cares where you went unless you’re going into ibanking.

NYU: match
Northwestern: reach
Marquette: match

for premed a 4.0 from an unknown school will trump a 3.0 from Harvard provided that MCAT are close to each other.

i am not really in it for the prestige these are both just dream schools…i should take Marquette off i just applied because all i had to do was press a button… I definitely think your right im not trying to transfer to one up my chances for med school.

although the fact that literally half of the student body here comes in premed and all the freshman and sophmore science classes are meant for weeding out hasnt been helpful…

this was very insightful tho thank you for your imput.
