Essay: I'm expecting really great!
Teacher Rec 1: AP English Teacher, helped me get a five!
Teacher Rec 2: Either another AP English Teacher, AP Gov teacher, APUSH teacher, or AP Physics teacher. Can't decide

Well I can’t say much about your chances, because I don’t know. But just as a suggestion for your second letter of recommendation, your AP physics teacher would be a good idea if you want to major in physics.

Only take recs from junior year teachers since they had you recently and will know you better than your senior year ones. You didn’t list AP Physics as an AP you already took, so I assume you didn’t take it yet. Thus, don’t get a rec from that teacher unless you had her junior year also (although, if you’re applying RD and don’t have a supplemental rec from anyone else, you can get one from your AP physics teacher who would’ve probably gotten to know you by January). If you took honors physics junior year, you can try getting a rec from that teacher. Since you’re going for physics, it’ll also look better to get your second rec from a math/science teacher and not a humanities one.

Also, try to retake the ACT to improve your math score at least. If you plan to be a physics major, they’re gonna look to see you’re good at math to make sure you can handle NU physics.

Finally, just make sure your essay shows you are extremely interested and that there will be a high chance you’ll go to NU if you get in.
