ACT is at the bottom of the mid 50%
Excellent academic performance with a rigorous schedule.
Your stats definitely make you a competitive applicant. I’m guessing it will come down to your essays and if ND thinks you are a strong fit. IMO, I think you have a 50/50 shot.
Your ACT is on the lower end for the “average.” If you’re worried about this, apply RD because I know the EA pool is extremely competitive.
Your high school record looks exemplary, and you are clearly taking a very challenging course load this year. GPA and class rank is solid, and although you don’t mention your internship, I do think that if it is relevant to your likely major, that is helpful as well. Putting your ACT score in perspective, I think a 33 is still in the top 1 % of the country, and I wouldn’t worry that it is the bottom of the middle fifty, especially due to the strength of the rest of your application. I think you are a good prospect for EA. You don’t mention your prospective major, so that could be a difference.
Hopefully you have had contact with ND - a visit, attended a local info session or some other way of demonstrating interest? If so, I think you are in good shape.
To be more specific–I intend to major in finance. My internship is with a financial management and personal investment firm, totaling over 200 hours over the course of the summer/fall. I am doing equity research. I know that Mendoza is generally more competitive for admissions than all other schools, which makes me a bit apprehensive, especially with my ACT being on the low end of the Mid-50. I am a pseudo-legacy (grandmother), recently attended an info session in my area, and am visiting South Bend next month. I know that EA is a more competitive applicant pool; however, ND is my number 1 and I feel as if my application is as strong as it will be. I guess I just have to keep tuning my essays over the next two weeks. Thank you so much for your input, Go Irish!
