Chance me Notre Dame

I just got back the June ACT. My scores were English: 33, Reading: 35, Math: 35, Science: 30. Science was difficult this time around, it’s a shame. Anyways, chance me?

Thanks

Nobody can chance you based only on one standardized test score and no other information.

What Grace said. But ND’s middle 50% for ACT is 33-35. So your 33 composite, fwiw, is at the 25th percentile of admitted students at ND. So you are below average so far. Prep over the summer and retake.

Thank you for your feedback. I was a little excited to get my score back and jumped the gun asking without providing more information. I posted with more details if you wouldn’t mind looking at that.

Thanks.

I have a 3.81 UW GPA, 4.81 W. ACT: Composite-33 single sitting and 34 superscored(English: 34, Math: 35, Science: 33, Reading: 35). I’m currently a junior at a public Chicagoland high school(not very highly ranked). I will have taken 13 APs after senior year. My senior courseload is: AP Calc BC, AP Stats, AP Government/Macroeconomics, AP Lit, AP Chem, and Finance. I am the founder and president of an Mu Alpha Theta chapter at my school. I played soccer my freshman and sophomore years. I run varsity track and started it in my sophomore year(transitioned from soccer to track). I received a varsity letter this year(rare achievement for juniors at my school). I am a Boy Scouts Star Scout but will not become an Eagle Scout. I am a member of a number of other clubs including political and service clubs. I will have around 100 hours of service by the time I apply. I am white and catholic. My dad received a PHD from Notre Dame, my mother received her masters from there, my sister received her bachelors from there as well. My intended major is Finance. I consider myself a talented writer and will likely write strong essays. My letter of recs will be good as well. At this moment I have perfect attendance and plan to maintain this.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Do you know your class rank?

Here is the class profile. I’m not sure who ND counts as legacy but your family ties to the school may help a bit. As noted above your ACT is low for ND at the 25th percentile. http://admissions.nd.edu/apply/admission-statistics/

Certainly apply but cast a wide net in terms of finding reach, match, and safety schools that appear affordable and that you would be happy to attend.

My school does not provide class rank.

Given your legacy status, I think your chances are probably slightly better than 50/50. Your UW GPA and the ACT scores are just a hair low, but you obviously have taken a very challenging academic course load. If you can’t improve your stats, it will probably come down to your essays.

That’s what I was thinking, thank you.

I don’t think ND superscores the ACT. But they don’t (as some schools do) require you to report all of your sittings.

You should do some focused ACT prep over the summer and take it one or more times in the fall. Depending if/when you get better ACT scores back, then you can decide to apply to ND early or not.

A 33 for a legacy might be a 50/50 proposition. A 34 would be much stronger.
