your stats, awards, EC’s, and volunteer experience are excellent. if i were admissions officer, i would totally accept you. your volunteer experiences show passion and interest in the field of nursing and that’s the type of people we would want in the health field. you would do great wherever you go. i think you have an excellent chance of getting accepted to ALL the schools you mentioned. key would be to apply early and really explain in depth in your essay why you are interested in becoming a nurse. it’s a great profession, btw.

Thank you so much!

Boston University does not have a nursing school BTW.

Your stats and EC’s are good and I think you would have a good chance my only thing would be to work on your SAT scores if BU is your top choice. You’re ideally going to want 1400+. The average SAT for BU 2021 was 1450. I know you’ve mentioned you’re going to retake it so you should be fine! Just make sure your essay is great and you should have a solid chance.

@itsintheprocess Again, BU does not have a nursing school!

Since you’re in NYS, I would suggest that you look at SUNY Plattsburgh. It has a direct entry nursing program, which is very well thought of. Direct entry would relieve you of the stress of taking 2 years of classes, applying to the nursing program and maybe not getting in. Your stats might also get you a scholarship there (especially nice if you don’t qualify for Excelsior), which they probably wouldn’t at SBU. I also don’t think SBU is direct entry.

My personal opinion is that the expensive private schools aren’t necessary for things like nursing and education, especially in NY.

@TomSrOfBoston I am aware BU doesn’t have a nursing school, but OP mentioned BU so I figured I would just give them some advice in case they changed their mind and decide to go the pre-med route, or they just really want to go to BU and wouldn’t mind if they didn’t have a nursing school.
