Chance me for these colleges, on a scale of 1-10:
Harvard
Yale
Columbia College
UPenn (Wharton)
NYU (Stern)
Cornell
U of Chicago

UC Berkeley
UC LA
UC San Diego

That’s a pretty hefty income bracket.

I think (could be wrong) it’s going to be a lot tougher for you since you’re an international student. However, you have the schools ranked (more or less) in the correct order of difficulty. Your SAT and GPA are obviously fine for any school in the world, ha. Your ECs are also solid. I’d say you have good chances at all except Harvard, Yale, and maybe Columbia. GL!

that’s some income bracket. you have a good shot at all of them… except maybe for Harvard and Yale where no one except people like Emma Watson could be sure of being admitted.

Will you attend Emory and marry my son?? LOL

Stanford is run by idiots. You have great stats. Geographic/ethnic diversity sunk you there without a trace through no fault or deficiency of your own.

You know getting into an Ivy is problematic for anyone. You will get past the secretaries and onto the Adcoms’ tables.

NYU and Chicago should be salivating. The climate is going to $uck.

Why didn’t you look at Wash. U. in St. Louis and Duke?

Harvard 4
Yale 4
Columbia College 5
UPenn (Wharton) 5
NYU (Stern) 9
Cornell 7
U of Chicago 10

UC Berkeley 10
UC LA 10
UC San Diego 10

@Chopin18
Actually, they wont want to admit people like Emma watsons. Unless she applied for film or something. Afterall, I doubt schools like Harvard cares.

@ VIvidi
I have a huge feeling that your Income branklet is going to get you in one of the elite schools, esp. in this recession. Of course, your stats and grades are really strong. Just that your income branket would actually compromise your race. Stanford admission is screwed. I honestly suspect that they hate asian applicants.

Harvard 3
Yale 4
Columbia College 5
UPenn (Wharton) 5
NYU (Stern) 9
Cornell 7, 6 if you are applying for their hotel management
U of Chicago 9

UC Berkeley 10
UC LA 10
UC San Diego 10

Wow, income bracket is impressive, and schools may actually want a student willing to pay big money for them, because they need to get it somewhere in a recession. While the international pool is always highly competitive, you still should stand out and have a pretty good shot. Just remember that Ivies are tough and can be fairly unpredictable for everyone. I can still see you getting into at least one <5 school though.

Harvard 4
Yale 4
Columbia College 5
UPenn (Wharton) 4
NYU (Stern) 6
Cornell 6
U of Chicago 8

UC Berkeley 10
UC LA 10
UC San Diego 10

Thanks for chancing me.

Your stats are extremely impressive. That being said, as everyone is saying being an international student might hurt your chances. However, I think you have very good shots at all of these schools…

Harvard 4
Yale 4
Columbia 6
Upenn 7
NYU 7
Cornell 8
U of Chicago 9

UC Berkely 10
UC LA 10
UC San Deigo 10

I thin you’re looking good at most of these schools but don’t take my word for it. I don’t know much about international students but I can tell you one thing: If you were a student in the U.S. with those numbers you would be into nearly all of those schools.

Chance me back Please…Thanks in advance http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/659585-chance-notre-dame-will-chance-back.html

that’s good to know, wannadartmouth :P

chance back

wow thanks guys, i feel more encouraged. I thought i literally and 0% chance at all these colleges after my rejection at stanford. but still do you think it matter A LOT that i dont have international recognitions? (olympiad, intel etc)

Harvard:4
Yale:5
Columbia College:7
UPenn (Wharton):6
NYU (Stern):8
Cornell:6
U of Chicago:8

UC Berkeley:9
UC LA:10
UC San Diego:10

seriously i don’t see why stanford rejected you. Your stats are outstanding even in the international pool. I know of an international who got into columbia, uchicago, nyu, upenn AND swathmore and your stats are better.

Harvard 5
Yale 5
Columbia College 7
UPenn (Wharton) 7
NYU (Stern) 9
Cornell 8
U of Chicago 8

UC Berkeley 10
UC LA 10
UC San Diego 10

I hope your essay was good.Good Luck!

What, really? Which year was this?

chance back please!

UC Berkely 9
UC LA 10
UC San Deigo 10

Harvard 3
Yale 3
Columbia College 4
UPenn (Wharton) 4
NYU (Stern) 6
Cornell 7
U of Chicago 7

UC Berkeley 8
UC LA 10
UC San Diego 9

Harvard - 4
Yale - 5
Columbia College - 6
UPenn (Wharton) - 7
NYU (Stern) - 9
Cornell - 8
U of Chicago - 9

UC Berkeley - 8
UC LA - 10
UC San Diego - 10

Do you think it’s harder to get into UCs than last year? Just because the recent economic recession is forcing everyone to apply to cheaper public schools rather than private ones.

bumppppppppppppppppppp

Harvard - 4
Yale - 4
Columbia College - 6
UPenn (Wharton) - 8 (since your willing to pay full tuition)
NYU (Stern) - 10 (since your willing to pay full tuition)
Cornell - 9 (ya, Its cornell)
U of Chicago - 9 to 10 (depending on your essay)

UC Berkeley - 8
UC LA - 9
UC San Diego - 10

You never know where you’ll get accepted. You might get accepted to Harvard, but rejected at UCSD. Someone I know got into Harvard but didn’t get into UMaine, or was it Earlham. My point is your a great applicant that should let the Stanford Slaughter get to you (I as well was a victim, but, I didn’t have stats anywhere near yours)

any more comments from anyone will be greatly appreciated.
