I think you have a good chance of being accepted at UT. I think that as far as getting into the business school, it could go either way. There is not a lot of room in the business school for OOS/non top ten percent. UT let a lot of oos kids in for fall 2009; if they do the same for fall 2010, you are in great shape.

It all depends on how many topteners want to enter business school. You have a good chance of getting into UT in general, and remember that it is possible to transfer if you enter as another major (I think you just have to go through some of the process again). Correct me if I am wrong.

@Laurenzo92, My name is Eric, and I’m a senior BHP/Finance/Plan II Honors major who has worked in the BHP office as a student recruiter for the last 2 years.

If you applied to BHP, our admissions is completely separate from UT and McCombs, meaning we’re not bound by any Top 10% rule. We look at the application holistically, so strong academic performance as well as strong extracurricular involvement and leadership. The BHP application is due by Dec 15th. Also, keep in mind we only look at one letter of recommendation, so please enter the email address of the recommender who can comment on you the most holistically. Also, use your resume to highlight your extracurricular achievements and any awards/honors.

Best of luck,
Eric
