I know it may be a long shot because I’m OOS and not in the top 7%, but this is easily my number one school. Here are my stats:
OOS (NJ), Asian Descent
UW GPA: 3.43, (Admissions Rep said I could send Mid Year grades, so I did. Those should bring it up to a 3.55 or so)
W GPA: 4.35(will go up with mid year grades)
Rank: Top 14%
Courseload- Took 11 AP’s and the rest were all Honors. Technically I could have fit in AP Spanish this year but otherwise pretty much as rigorous as it gets for my school.
SAT: 2140 (740 M, 670 CR, 730 W), Commended for PSAT (215)
AP Scores: 5 on Calc/Stat/Psych, 4 on Euro/Apush/English, rest to be determined (AP Scholar w/ Distinction Award)
Nothing Crazy in terms of volunteering, I’ve just been involved with a few programs throughout my four years in high school. I also organized a local event for the National MS Society. Overall I’d guess around 50 hours.
Activities:
-Member of school NHS
-Member of Tennis Team-Every year, Varsity
-Writer for School Newspaper- Every year
-Academic Team-JV- 2 years, finished top 3 in division and went to Nationals both years
-DECA- 2 Years, Finished top 10 in States for my category each year
-Engineering Encounters Bridge Design Contest
-A couple of Online Courses that I received credit for(both in the STEM fields)
Recs were probably solid
My essays were well written and I spent a lot of time on them, but I wouldn’t say they’re anything extraordinary
My app was submitted the second week of September. I’ve gotten into Boston University,Purdue, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, CU Boulder, and Penn State, so I know I shouldn’t be freaking out, but this is the school I care the most about.
Thanks, and good luck to everyone else who’s anxiously waiting for March 1st!!
