So, with this in mind I would really appreciate it if you could weigh my chances of becoming a terrapin. Thanks in advance and God Bless

Assuming you already applied in time for the Priority date, I think you have a really good chance. You have great SAT scores, and your GPA is certainly respectable. Also, I doubt that Florida is very well-represented in their OOS pool, so that is a help for you. Your SAT scores are high enough that they’ll consider you for special programs (Honors, Gemstone, Scholars, etc.) or possibly merit aid, but the GPA may not be high enough for that. But, in terms of being accepted, I would think you have a decent chance! Good luck.

Also…Make sure and study like crazy for your AP tests in May—you’ll have a boatload of college credit already if you get 4’s or 5’s on your current list of AP classes. D2 is a freshman who had 33 UMD credits worth of AP credit when she went in, and for Spring registration, she registered at least 2 weeks before other people who are also finishing their first semester. It certainly helps, not to mention that she was able to start with higher level classes, and most of her CORE requirements were completed.

One thing at least for scholars govt and politics, do not go in believing you can graduate early with all of those credits, you can’t, but like astro said it helps for when you are eligible to register and placing out of the core courses which means you get out of the 200+ class size. For DS it also meant he could have a dual major and a core minor.
