Chance me OOS

<p>I really want to go to UNC Chapel Hill. Decisions arriving tomorrow. I am scared.</p>

<p>I have a 4.28 weighted gpa with a 3.8 unweighted.
I am top 6% in my class and will graduate cum laude.
My high school is ranked #80 in the country by Newsweek.</p>

Critical Reading:730
Math: 610
Writing: 630</p>

French: 690</p>

<p>AP Classes taken and scores: AP World History (4), AP Art History(5), AP European History (5), AP French (4), AP U.S. History (4), AP Lang (5), AP Human Geography (3)</p>

<p>Currently Taking: AP lit, AP Stat, AP Government, AP Economics, and I have already completed FRE3244 as a dual enrollment class last semester at Florida State University. I am currently taking FRE3501 and FRE3421 this semester. I also took Gifted Externship last semester.</p>

<p>You seem very well rounded and well prepared to me. The CR 730 is definitely a big plus. I think you have a definite shot, especially as UNC looks at apps holistically – and your ECs are quite impressive!</p>

<p>Contrary to LadyDianeski’s positive response…I would like to inform that unless your weighting system is skewed in your school, your weighted GPA is on the downside for UNC. In-state accepted students usually have a 4.6 gpa or higher. Seeing that you are OOS, that will make it tough for you. However, UNC takes a hollistic approach–so just hope the rest of your app outweighs the gpa deal.</p>

<p>@Polobear, 4.6? I don’t know much about UNC admissions but that’s CRAZY high for in-state students at a state school. Are you sure that’s correct? That’s a valedictorian-esque GPA…</p>
