In state, 33 ACT, 4.20 weighted GPA. Ranked 9th in class of 355.
Just based purely on ACT (33), you are eligible for Maximus scholarship $5,000 / renewable for four years up to a total of $20,000.
Any other scholarships such as Morrill (MSP) or others, you will have to apply in addition to your common app. See link below.

I have heard that OSU does not stack up scholarships which means if you receive Morrill, you may have to give up Maximus / Provost / Trustee or other scholarships, but I would confirm that from OSU or one of the members could confirm this for you.
Hope this helps.
Get your application in as early as possible. Your qualifications seem strong but merit aid does run out so even qualified candidates may not get it.
OSU does not stack their scholarships. My son received the Morrill so his Provost did not apply.
To clarify for out of state students though, the National Buckeye scholarship is handled differently and from my understanding it will stack with a Morrill or Provost etc. Maybe an out of state student or parent can comment further.
Yes, National Buckeye for out of state can be stacked with the Maximum, Provost or Trustee scholarships.
but, if you get Morrill, as OOS, it covers tuition, including OOS nonresident fee, so that does replace National Buckeye ie those 2 do not stack
Yes, that’s why I noted that the Buckeye only stacks with the Maximum, Provost or Trustee.
When you say “as early as possible,” do you mean, like right now? I need to finish the essay!
Don’t worry, you don’t have to get your application in right now. Make sure your essay is well-written. But I recommend getting everything submitted (including your counselor’s stuff) by the second-to-last week in October. My D submitted hers the last week of October and she got the Maximus and National Buckeye last year. Submit no later than the November 1 deadline for sure.
My son received the Honda/OSU Math Medal and there is a 3k renewable scholarship that will stack on top of OSU merit aid.
My OOS child may not be the greatest essay writer (I would give her a B) but great academics ACT 34 (Math and English 35). Does the above-average essay really downplay her chances on the Maximus or even the Morrill?
I doubt the essay would have any impact on awarding the Maximus but since applying for the Morrill requires its own essay it seems like a better essay would certainly improve her chances.
Good rankings, but you’ll need to list your honors/AP classes and extracurriculars in order for anybody to make an accurate guess.
@CRVKids - I do not think the essay will matter as much for the Maximus scholarship, I think that is primarily determined by ACT score and GPA. For the Morrill scholarship, the essay is crucial. It really is determined by your student’s extra curriculars and leadership and how they relate to promoting or enhancing diversity or other cross-cultural relationships.
