can i please get a reply?

can we please get some stats other than GPA and ACT?

No - seriously, I think your post is a bit ‘heavy’ on the ECs and a little thin on academic stats.
From what I know about UNC I’d say it will be tough for you. Your ACT, GPA and Rank will not stand out - I’d give you a low chance at best, based on what I can see, sorry.

UNC has an ACT middle 50% of 26-31 and an average HS GPA of 4.47(princetonreview.com), however, this is the average data for ALL students, for oos this will be much more selective.

(I’m not considering your ECs and your social background, I don’t know how important these things are for UNC)

You look pretty awesome to me, I wouldn’t worry about that ACT too much. Write a great essay and have great recs. You might want to take the ACT again and make sure you study before it, but you should be proud of all you’ve done in high school. Even if you don’t go to Carolina I’m sure you could go somewhere great. That said, I would guess you have an excellent shot at UNC.

dude ur set, first genration low income hispanic, 13 AP, 29 ACT which will probably get boosted to like 32 with affirmative action and bunch of other stuff

What stats other than GPA and ACT do you want with regards to academics eml2505?

I’d be more than happy to give that out, I’m just not sure what else I could possibly give?

bumppppppppppppppppppppppppp

As a student, I can tell you that your stats would definitely get you into Carolina in-state. However, getting in out-of-state is basically like Ivy League. I think you still stand a good chance though. Make sure your essays are stellar and that they stress your potential contribution to the University and your individuality.

I meant to say I am a student that attends Carolina in the previous post. Here are some things Carolina looks for:

Individuality

Quality and Leadership rather than quantity in terms of extracurriculars

well-rounded person who excels in many fields, academics being most important

diversity

Let me know if you have any other questions and I will try to get back to you.

I think you have a VERY good chance at getting in. You have a rigorous schedule and have still managed to do well. You’ve demonstrated academic success in many fields, from chemistry to history to english. You also show commitment for one EC with all of your awards and involvement in the thespian society. I think you have a great chance of admission with your stats. I think you could bring up your ACT a little more, but honestly, even with a 29 I still think you could easily get in. Good luck!

I think that your chance is 50-50 at best. One of the things listed as “very important” for admissions to UNC is state residency. I think that your ACT score is going to hurt you. I’m not trying to be harsh. Actually I hope you get in! My daughter is looking at UNC and we are oos. She is class of 2012. It’s tough for us oos people! Good luck.
