Extracurriculars w/ very brief description

  1. Haritha Haram – This is a government organized initiative to plant trees. I successfully planted over 50 healthy saplings in my community. Also encouraged people to participate in Van Mahotsav (Forest Festival) programs.
  2. Taekwondo – Played taekwondo for 3 years. Champion in district and state level competitions.1 district and 1 state level
  3. Swachh Bharath – Cleaned roads in my city to spread awareness. This was monitored by Indian Government.
  4. Red Cross – Volunteered at this organization and held an event on World Alzheimer’s day
  5. Taught many students about Technology and how to use gadgets
    Awards/Honors w/ level of recognition (Regional, State, National, International)
  6. Cricket championships-won 3 of them. leading bowler in that team
    2) badminton-won two championships
    3) won 2 quiz competitions
    4) collaborated for a team and won first prize in the school held science fair

Sorry but 1200 SAT will not cut it for Purdue Engineering of any flavor, especially CompSci/Aerospace Engineering. Same with Maryland. I would suggest taking 1 more SAT since a 650 on SAT Math is frankly a poor score for somebody considering Engineering and especially for an international.

All public schools will be expensive for OOS/international. 73,000 a year might be able to cover tuition/living expenses, but you will to figure travel expenses as well.

First generation usually does not apply to internationals.

what about other colleges mate?

Arizona and Utah maybe? Perhaps one of the CSU schools too.

But that SAT needs to be increased to about 1300+ and depending on what language of instruction was used in secondary school, a TOEFL test is required.
