<p>This is my first one like this so, bear with me.</p>

<p>I would like to be chanced for Penn State- University Park.</p>

<li>no financial aid expected</li>
<li>currently a junior</li>
<li><p>Planning to major in a biological science with premed track</p></li>
<li><p>1680 SAT (620 Math, 560 Reading, 500 Writing) - Am retaking (Awful timed test taker)</p></li>
<li><p>95.899 % UW GPA (Not sure what this is on the 4 point scale (3.9 or 4.0))</p></li>
<li><p>4 APs this year. NO APs prior to junior year</p>

<li>AP Calc AB</li>
<li>AP Physics C</li>
<li>AP Statistics</li>
<li>AP Psychology (SELF-STUDY)</li>
</ul></li>
<li><p>Have scheduled 4 APs for senior year.</p>

<li>AP Biology</li>
<li>AP English</li>
<li>AP Environmental Science (SELF-STUDY)<br></li>
</ul></li>
<li><p>All other classes taken have been accelerated (honors) never taken "regular-level" class.</p></li>
<li><p>Dual Enrollment in College in the High School Program
- Completed a rigorous health class with an A</p></li>

<p>ECs:</p>

<p>I plan on playing basketball for the rest of high school. (11 & 12 grade VARSITY, 10th and 9th JV).
Tennis: 2 years.</p>

<p>Latin Club- 4 years
Key Club- 2 years Over 100 hours
School Newspaper- 2 years
Internship/Volunteering Program at Hospital in Boston, Mass. (200 hours clocked).
Plan on volunteering another 200 hours over the next summer.</p>

<p>Won National Geographic GeoBee in Middle School for the state (if that means anything).</p>

<p>maybe you should try the ACT, I’d say you’re set if you get that SAT score up. Good luck :slight_smile: write a good essay too, express interest, try and visit or go to info sessions in your area.</p>

<p>Yes, I am currently working through an ACT prep book and scheduled to take the ACT in April. According to the practice tests, I am doing better than I did on the SAT. (Then again, it is practice). I was just wondering if these current stats could get me admission.</p>

<p>You have a great gpa with hard classes the only bad thing on your app is your SAT score which you are retaking. Aim for an 1800 and above on the SAT and you will have a great chance!</p>

<p>2/3rds of their decision is their GPA. Make sure yours doesn’t drop with all those APs. When you apply, apply for DUS and summer session. Easier to get in. Take the ACT’s, too. Chances are you will score better on them then your SAT. Get a solid 26-28 and your good to go… you seem like a likely candidate, keep your grades up.</p>
