Took my SSAT this morning, I think I did pretty good but I'm retaking it in December.
My grades haven't been perfect 100s, but I think my EC's make up for it?
I'm very determined and ambitious.
Should I mention that I was labeled gifted? Which means my IQ is in the top 2% of the country. I don't know if it would even matter, aren't most BS students in something like that? Also, should I send in the papers from my school saying I'm gifted, with all the teacher comments and my IQ?

I'm getting an amazing rec from my old school's Coordinator of Education and another amazing rec from the school psychiatrist.

Another question, are my EC's too long? I'm thinking they might think I've padded it, but this is an honest list.

Anywaay, be brutally honest, and also match me? :) thanks

Hello,

I, personally, think you have a good chance. I mean, you are like a genius, right? I really like Choate so I am a little bias. But, Exeter is a good school.

But what is it that you are looking for in a school?

You seem a little unorganized to me?

Also, what would you repeat grade nine? What would colleges think of that?

^If you search through recent threads, you’ll find that repeating a year puts you at no disadvantage and colleges/fellow students+teachers will not think badly of you because of it. Actually, it can be very advantageous to repeat a year, especially because of the increased admission chance.

Thanks for clearing that up. I’m repeating because I’m actually supposed to be in 8th grade this year, I started school a year early. I think it would be beneficial. Plus, I don’t want to apply for 10th because of both the decreased admission chance and I think it might be awkward coming in after everyones gotten to know each other.

bump 10char

there are some useless geniuses in this world.

Um… excuse me?

Whats up w/the school psychiatrist? AO might jump to conclusions about your personality. Things like, does the student have social issues?
Does the student need support in dealing w/stress,social or any disorder not mentioned on the app? You asked to be brutally honest. I know that it may not be correct for AO to jump to conclusions but they are human and that question may come up at the round table.

Are you applying for financial aid? With your stats, why do you want to repeat 9th grade?

Maddog: She’s the school advisor also, but she’s my mom’s good friend and has supported me since grade school, so I know she’ll write good things. Is it really a large issue?

Bonnie: No FA needed. I mostly want to repeat because I think entering the tenth grade with a student body that just had a year to get to know each other would be akward. I also started school a year early, so technically I belong in the 8th grade now. It would also be good so I could have an extra year to catch up on grades and classes.
