<p>Hi guys! I need your opinion as to whether or not I will get in. Thank you 😀💕
Info: 14, public school, grade 9, white
Grades: Mostly A's (midterm this year- straight a's)
Ssat: scheduled to take it dec. 7, based on the practice tests (which were incredibly easy) I believe I will miss about 3 questions or so. I'm not sure what score that would translate into.
Interview: also upcoming, I am great at public speaking, and also pretty relatable and somewhat charming. I feel as though the interview will go great.
Instruments: I play the trumpet (jazz band soloist, also in concert band) and the baritone (concert band)
Sports: usually place top 5 in Nordic skiing ( 2 yrs) and track (3 yrs) I also played volleyball for three years.
Extracurriculars: science fair(national semifinalist), model un, FBLA, StuCo rep, Debate(captain partner), knowledge bowl, Teen leadership coalition, and teen reading committee
Honors: named freshman science master, 2nd place patriots pen essay contest (regional), national science fair semi-finalist, 2nd in state knowledge bowl, debate captain partner (cx), best position paper model un, position in audition band as a soloist, top 5 every meet for track
Recommendations: I believe that these will be pretty good. Never had many problems with my teachers.
Essays: I have a knack for writing, my essays are EXCELLENT. (I'm not bragging I'm just trying to give you an accurate picture so you can help me out) I wrote my essays in sophisticated, genuine, yet understandable language.</p>
<p>There is no one on this board that can give you a legitimate answer to your question. You sound a little narcissistic. Why do you need someone to confirm what you already seem to know. It appears that you have been building your resume for quite some time. I don’t see any hint of humility anywhere on your list. A little humility goes a long way. Make sure you post on March 10 where you get accepted. By the way, the practice tests for the ssat are very easy.</p>
<p>@firstgenbsp112 Thank you for replying, and I know. I don’t mean to sound that cocky. Also, in my app I don’t seem so conceited (I made sure of that.) I’m just way too nervous, as this is my first time applying to a prep school, and I only applied to two with low admission rates. I have been building my resume for approx. 2 years, and only realized that this year a prep school is what I want</p>
<p>You look like a strong candidate. Don’t be nervous. Relax and be confident about yourself. During an interview, show them you are modest and a nice person to be with. Do well on SSAT. Get a good recommendation which is also very important. Unless those two schools are the only one you want to go, widen your search for safety. There are just many many good schools to consider. </p>
<p>I hope to hear good news from you on M10.</p>
<p>Why only exeter & andover?</p>
<p>Because they’re the only schools worth going to?</p>
<p>@GMTplus7 because they’re REALLY good schools I may apply to a back up though, because I know I’m aiming pretty high. @MBVLoveless yeessss!</p>
<p>@turtleee: Actually, nnnnnooooooooo. (FWIW, I’m pretty sure MBVL goes to L-ville, which many consider to be just was worthwhile to attend.)</p>
<p>Good luck with your process.</p>
<p>I recommend that you choose one of these for a backup: Groton, St Paul’s, and Hill. They’re not Exover so they’re definitely easy to get into.</p>
<p>@MBV, I hope you’re joking…</p>
<p>@MBVLoveless Is “Hill” the whole name of the school?</p>
<p>Some people call it “The Hill”</p>
<p>[The</a> Hill School- a coeducational independent boarding and day school for grades 9-12 & post-graduate in Pottstown, Pennsylvania](<a href=“http://www.thehill.org%5DThe”>http://www.thehill.org)</p>
<p>@GMT: I think MBVL is, as they say, having turtleee on.</p>
<p>Groton and St. Pauls should NEVER NEVER NEVER be anyone’s safety- trust a repeat ninth grader applying again after waitlisted at both</p>
<p>I mean, is applying again this year as a repeat</p>
