My top schools are Pitt, Penn State, Indiana U and University of Delaware (in that order). I got accepted to Penn State, IU, and UDel, but Pitt requested my midyear reports before making a decision. I applied as a Psych BS major to the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.

My Stats:
-SAT: 1890 (I took them twice; w/o superscore I got an 1870, but I'm pretty positive Pitt superscores)
-GPA: 3.7 (I got a 3.5 freshman year, which really pulled my GPA down, but I had an upward curve throughout the years - fresh 3.5, soph 3.9, junior 3.8, senior 4.2 so far)
-Extracurriculars: Key Club (committee head), National Honors Society 10, 11, 12 (I won 2 awards last year, one was for the second most credits earned in the entirety of NHS; I also went up for President, but unfortunately didn't get it), Generation 4 Change, French Club, I had an internship (10, 11 and 12), held a part-time job every year of high school, aside from some of Junior year, I have been riding horses my entire life, so I didn't have any time for sports since I had my horse and my jobs.
-Senior Year Classes: Honors Gov, Honors English, Honors Sociology, AP Psychology, AP Statistics, AP Environmental Sciences
I went up to Honors Seminar French (Junior year) then the teacher retired, and they couldn't find a teacher to fit the position.
I'm a caucasian female from a south eastern suburb in PA near Philly. I attend a really great/high ranked public school. I have an older brother at Drexel; my parents both got a Bachelor's degree from Drexel. My parents are almost formally divorced, and I live with my mom who makes $11/hr working at a Chiropractic Office; my dad is a musical composer (writes music for tv shows/movies), self-employed.

I got a 4.2 GPA (weighted) for both the first and second semesters of this year; however, I got a C in AP Stat both marking periods (sorry it just isn't clicking!), so I'm a little worried. I don't know about midterms yet, they're this week.

I took a formal tour of the school 3 times, plus attended the meeting with an admissions rep when he came to my school. I applied early September, and all of my paperwork was received by mid-October.

Writing is my forte, so I honestly think my essay was well written (I also had my english teacher look over it). I wrote about how my mom's brother lived with us for my sophomore and junior year; he had diabetes, cancer, was an alcoholic and didn't regulate his blood sugar. He often had episodes leaving me with mild PTSD. I put a personal statement stating that my parents got divorced my sophomore year, and my mom really leaned up me for support emotionally and physically. I did our laundry, grocery shopped, cooked meals, cleaned the house, ran errands etc. I still got a 3.9 sophomore year and a 3.8 juniors year.

My friend applied to the school of business and got in with a 1760 SAT (I got an 1890), 1 AP (I had 4), 1 club (I had 4), and 1 part time job for a few months sophomore year (I constantly had one throughout high school; 4 total plus my internship). Is the reason she got in and I didn't because she applied to the school of business and I applied to the Psych program? Orrrr am I just getting jipped?

Also, when do you think I will hear my decision by? I was really hoping to go to the February 22 revisit day, because I heard that's when a lot of people were going. I absolutely love Pitt and am so sad (and stressed) that I wasn't admitted right away. Thanks for taking the time to read this and reply! Sorry I'm not very good at summarizing things.
