Well, be harsh. Chance me. I know my chances don't look very good, given the immense talent that's looming out there. However, I just want to know my chances from CC, and get these off my list :/

they’re all reaches. look for safeties

Little to no chance at all except for Northwestern, where it is a mid-reach. Raise your SAT to 2200+ and your chances will improve dramatically. Good luck!

Might look at Bucknell, Holy Cross-nice campus 1 hour from Boston.

Your chances don’t look good because you have a horrible GPA (talk about a downward trend), below average test scores and unimpressive extracurriculars. Don’t blame it on the competition.

As for your actual chances, I’m inclined to agree with ICanDivideByZero, adding that Medill is more selective than Weinberg.

All of those schools are reaches, and you’re fairly screwed considering you are an international who needs aid.

I anticipated such responses. LOL, yeah, my academics aren’t very good and my SAT score isn’t impressive at all. I’ve removed all these colleges, except Medill and Swat (dreams don’t die so easily)

However, what I would like are suggestions to universities that I can apply to. Bear in mind that I require 50% aid, and accordingly recommend please.
Also, what do you guys think about my chances at Penn, Cornell, Wesleyan and Grinnell?

Mm … yeah … I don’t really like the odds … also Penn and Cornell are out for you - they look a lot at academics. Maybe Washington University?

Your junior year was disastrous. I don’t think many selective colleges would look that fact over. You should look into applying to colleges like Grinnell, Colorado, Lewis & Clark, Hampshire, etc., as matches to reaches.
It also doesn’t help that you’re Indian, or that your SAT score is what it is.

All of these schools are reaches, but good luck! Try and find some safeties/matches

I would suggest looking at some state schools. Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin all have good English programs (not Ivy-level but good nonetheless)

If you prefer a warmer climate North Carolina and Texas have good programs also.

[Chance me back!](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1044020-chances-texas-texas-m-va-tech-indiana-thanks.html)

Your grades don’t cut it honestly. No way any school looks over a 67% average in Junior Year. Some wouldn’t even look over a SINGLE GRADE of 67%.

You’re going to have to aim much lower. Your 2040 SAT doesn’t compensate for your very low grades.

Honestly, I agree with everyone else. You don’t even have a shot at any of these. Maybe a really really really really outside shot at Northwestern, but your GPA KILLS you. Try for some state schools or something.

I’d say your best shot is at Northwestern, but try to raise those SAT scores. The 67% junior year could be a big problem though–is there some reason your grades went down so much? That might be something you’d want to explain in additional info on your apps.

i agree that out of these schools, Northwestern is your best chance. try some UC’s: they are really really good schools (coming from a California kid haha). and yeah, my ethnicity is very unique lol

Princeton - High Reach you should really improve your SAT scores for princeton
Amherst- Reach
Williams-Reach
Northwestern(Medill)- Reach, I would say match but Journalism is super competitive maybe try going in undecided and transferring to journalism might get a better chance!
Swarthmore - Reach

You have really good EC’s but they don’t necessarily make up for you SAT’s maybe try improving your SAT’s! Try and look for some more match /safety school!

That said don’t give up, still apply to those schools if you really want to go you cant get in if you dont apply (cliche i know!)

Chance back please

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1044265-yale-ed-chance-will-chance-back-bake-you-imaginary-internet-cake.html</a></p>

Are you an international student? Your GPA is really going to kill you unless you have a valid reason for having such terrible grades (sickness, death in family etc.)

Ah thanks guys, I like the honest feedback. I knew that 67 was going to screw me over bad. So, I am aiming much lower now.

Carleton, Middlebury, Wesleyan, CUNY, SUNY Stony Brook, Reed, Northwestern, Swat and Williams - my final list. What do you guys think?

The small schools give aid to just a few of the top international applicants. I think you should include some of the least selective schools that give aid to internationals.
