I think as far as Ivies go, you probably have a decent shot at Brown, Columbia, UPenn, Dartmouth, and Cornell. As for Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, I think these are reaches, but you might be able to pull them off if your SAT score from the past time you took it is higher. I don’t know if having a lowish income will get you a scholarship, but definitely financial aid.

Chance me back? I’d appreciate it :)

You’re in…USAMO+Great Scores+Great EC’s = Acceptance…

I smell a ■■■■■…

Semifinalists won’t be announced until january…

How exactly did you start a sport junior year and become captain of it?

Umm Natacion, I was an intel semifinalist LAST year.

And I started playing Badminton when I was 8, I was on the varsity team as a freshman and became captain my sophomore year. Same for xc, except I became captain junior year. there is no ■■■■■…

Is this a joke if u dont get it who will?

Hi azn2400, your application seems absolutely amazing, if you don’t get in, nobody stands a chance. Since you wrote this last year, I jsut wanted to ask whether you made it the Columbia? And what college you are gonig to?

Income is no problem. All the Ivies give great aid. Emphasize your charity on your apps, assuming you’re serious about it - sports and academics are intrinsically boring if impressive, and speak for themselves without explanation. Unless your intel/research essay is really good, I’d consider at least drafting one about charity. You’ll get in fine either way though.

WRT aid, here’s a rough mapping of what you’ll pay at Columbia, according to family income:

<60K: 0-5K a year
60K-80K: 10K a year
80K-100K: 20K a year
100K-130K: 30K a year
130K-180K: 40K a year
180K+: 50K a year

These vary by dependents and other factors.
