<p>Hey Zab. I think your main focus needs to be on doing whatever you need to get your act score up to a 30. Unfortunately these scores matter a lot. When I was in your position, I did poorly on the psat, then became determined to do better and studied my ass off. I took every practice test there was and really worked on my math skills. My score went up from a 1200 on the psat to a 1480 on the sat. My high school grades were good (not amazing) and I had weak extracurriculars. My hook was a really creative essay that gained me personal feedback from an admissions officer (you can pm me if you want some tips on essays/want to know what i wrote about). So dont get discouraged. </p>
<p>As far as chances, I would give you a 15% chance with your current numbers. Get the scores up a bit, write an innovative essay, and present your extracurriculars intelligently…then you will have as good a chance as anyone at admissions.</p>
