Chance me please - American University, George Washington University, Georgetown

Hello everyone, I was just wondering what my chances were for AU, GWU and Georgetown... here are my stats:

I am a: Caucasian Female & Polish Immigrant (7 years in the States)
ACT: 29
SATs: No SATs. Is that tolerable?

GPA: 3.9 Non-weighted, 4.4 weighted
Mostly an A student/honors and AP classes, might have one or two B's on transcript

Rank: Top 2% (out of 436)

This year's AP courseload: taking AP English Literature & Composition, AP European History, AP Spanish V (skipped one year of Spanish this year, from Sp III to V AP)

EC's: National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Spanish Club (Vice-P), Freshman Tutoring, Tennis/Badminton in previous years, as well as Speech Team, Quiz Bowl

Addit.: Election Judge during Illinois Primaries in Feb., Equipment Manager (polling station leader) during National Elections in Nov.

Awards: Exceptional Student Award for Modern Languages, Alumni Award for Excellence in Social Studies, Honor Roll, Illinois State Scholar, Art Award

Intended Major: International Relations and possibly Linguistics

I am also wondering about the need-based and merit-based aid offered at these schools - particularly at AU. Would anyone happen to know about the aid packages?

Be brutal please, all feedback appreciated!

bump, please, anyone? The one I'm most interested in is AU... guesses?

Likely in at AU.... merid aid maybe? I don't know much about aid there.

Your Transcript is clearly your strength. The GPA and class rank looks amazing, Course Load looks fantastic, and your weighted average looks great. However, ECs look somewhat mediocre, and there isn't any reason to like your EC over a lot of other applicants.
Skipping 1 year of Spanish might not help you, because I know countless hispanics in my area who have done just that. Your lack of SAT isn't going to harm you, but just make sure your colleges accept ACTs!

Your ACTs aren't bad for a fairly competitive applicant, but they can definitely improved. A good rule of thumb is 30+ for the more selective colleges like Georgetown.

So overall, i think you have good shots (Matches) at AU and maybe GWU.

Georgetown looks to be a low reach or a medium Reach, I'm not exactly sure.
Again, few things in your application stand out or would truly impress me If I was an admission officer.

aeria chances are great at AU and pretty good at gw

AU-in
GW-low match/ most likely in
Georgetown-slighhht reach

Uff, thanks! Definitely applying to AU now. :)

AU - high match
GW - match to high match
Georgetown - reach to slight reach
If your ACTs are a bit higher you'd improve your chances a lot

AU - match
GW - match to high match
Georgetown low reach

AU-Almost a safety for you
GW-Comfort zone
GW-Reach

I’d say your definitely in for American University!
George Washington- is going to be a High Match/ slight reach
and Georgetown- is a slight-mid reach
GOOD LUCK!

Oopsrhnnrhenrhm

I think you’ll get into AU. GTown wants 3 SATII tests, so probably a ‘no’ there. GW is a high match.

I applied to all of these schools too…but i applied as a junior from a cc with a 3.7
good luckk!!
