Hello! Can you please chance me for:

Here’s my information:

  • industrial design or related major (at Lehigh and Rensselaer)
  • White, female, current junior
  • From a competitive high school in Northern VA, but my school doesn’t rank
  • GPA 3.6 UW, 4.3 W (this is just a rough estimate, but it will probably stay around this)
  • PSAT from this year was a 161, but I have a tutor and I hope to get at least 1900-2000 this in March
  • 9th grade: HN Biology, HN History, Geometry, English, Spanish 1, Photography 1, Gym
  • 10th grade: HN Chemistry, AP World History, Algebra 2, HN English, Spanish 2, Photography 2, Gym
  • 11th grade: AP Physics 1, AP US History, Preclaculus, AP Lang, Spanish 3, Photography 3, Art 3
  • 12th grade: Anatomy, AP Government, AP Calculus AB, AP Lit, Creative Writing, AP Photography, AP Art
  • total of 9 AP classes, 4 honors classes

Special things/awards/talents/ extra circulars:

  • identical triplet
  • volunteered at a therapeutic riding stable for 3 years, worked there as assistant instructor for 2 (total of around 3,000 hours of community service, not including work hours).
  • 2 years on a equestrian show team
  • won 1st place in category in school science fair, won 2nd place in regional category,
  • won Photography academic achievement award all 4 years of high school

Interesting collection - these are not similar places

Your portfolio will be the most important for Pratt and SCAD - they are art schools - your portfolio must stand out

1900 wont be enough at Lehigh/Renssalaer - not sure about the others - what do you have scored already?

Visit all of them and see which feels right - then look for some more plan B schools

A kid who wants to go to Pratt wouldnt like the vibe at Lehigh and vice versa

Thanks! I visited RIT and loved it, and I liked SCAD too. Haven’t visited Lehigh, Pratt, and Renssalaer though. But RIT is still my top choice!

You can get in all these schools with a 1950+ SAT score in my opinion. Strong ECs / Recs always a plus.
