Happy Thanksgiving!

Any advice, please!

I think you have as strong a chance as every applicant to these schools with solid scores + grades and fairly standard ec’s. These schools are hard to get into so as a full pay candidate maybe there’s a 25% chance, depending on what the schools are looking for this year.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Do you think I should re-take the SSAT?

What course were you taking at Exeter Summer? I attended this year and only got one honor

@southernboyal34 Land and Sea, Exploring the Powers of the natural world

@one1ofeach Thank you for your comments. Would you recommend me to re-take SSAT?

@Jessica718 It seems as though you have a good chance, I was far less qualified than you are and I was still accepted into all the schools you are applying to. Your SSAT seems fine to me, and it’s not the most important part of the application. I would use that time to finish up your essays. If you have any questions about Exeter i’m happy to answer them, as i’m currently a freshman there!

I honestly don’t know. If one of your scores is significantly lower than the rest then yes. For instance if you have a 50% for reading you need to retake. I think an 88% is solid. If you were nervous, or didn’t prepare then you might consider retaking. In the end I don’t really think an 88% is going to keep you out if the rest of your application is stellar. In general to feel confident in scores I’d recommend having the % be at or above the school’s average %.

@flowergirl1214 Thank you very much for your helpful advice and comments. Philips Exeter is one of my dream schools and hearing your reply gave me the confidence to continue preparing my applications. I hope you have a wonderful journey of learning, meeting new people, and finding yourself in Exeter. At the moment, I am preparing for my essays and I will contact you if I have any questions. Thank you.

@one1ofeach Thank you for your thoughtful comments.

My general scores for SSAT is 88%, verbal is 95%, reading is 80% and quantitative is 73%. However, my parents insisted me to retake but I am thinking to retake in January.

@one1ofeach how to find the school’s average %? Thank you!

boarding school review has them but I question its accuracy
