CHANCE ME PLEASE! at ivys

I would say you’ve got a great shot, even considering your ORM status. Great scores, great ECs and activities, and it’s great you’ve got a recommendation from your Columbia professor.

Chance back if possible please.

I’ve got to disagree with Proclivity. Your stats are impeccable but like Pioneer said, your ECs are relatively mundane. But your recommendation from the Columbia professor may be your saving grace! Especially if you talk about what your Columbia summer course meant to you in your essays. Best of luck :)

^ Thanks, im hoping that the recommendation letter will save me
Could anyone label these schools as matches or reaches?
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
Duke
Cornell
Williams

Recommendation letters will never make or break an application. Remember that the only letters that really matter are the ones from your high school teachers and guidance counselor; a supplemental letter from a Columbia professor, while obviously not a hindrance, will not “save you”.

^Yale and Princeton will be significant reaches, with Columbia, Duke and Williams right under that, and Cornell as a low reach.

Ha ha. Redroses has it dead on. I don’t even know what gives me the right to tell my fellow Seniors around the US and world anything, but I feel like I’m contributing in at least a neutral manner, so…

Welcome to the club!!! As an ORM international applicant, even if you are treated like a domestic applicant, you still have the issue of thousands of thousands of similar ORMs. In fact, I swore that your resume looks very similar to mine when I first read it, other than the fact I’m neither female nor a very good tennis player. I think it’s fair to say that Ivies will be reaches without a hook, as they are for everyone. Columbia and Cornell may be low reaches for you depending on their method of evaluation; once again, I’m just a Senior like you, so I can’t say for certain anything unless the answer is dead obvious. Duke could be a high match for you, and Williams a match.

^Williams is on-par with the Ivies; by no means can the OP call it a match.

I second billabongboy. My apologies. I thought you mean William and Mary; our school hasn’t seen a singe application to Williams College in half a decade. But as I said, I don’t always know exactly what I’m talking about.

Yale - low reach (unpredictable, but your profile is almost exact match of some Yalies I know)
Princeton - reach (unpredictable)
Columbia - reach (expecting very low acceptance rate)
Duke - match (if you show real interest … if you ED, I would be surprised if you didn’t get in)
Cornell - match (same as above, as long as you don’t need Finaid)
Williams - low reach (again, I think you match what Williams looks for)

Just my opinion, but good luck!
