Chance me please (CMU, Cornell, WVU, and others)

I think that your chances in all but Cornell and U Penn are perfect. I would think in order to get into Cornell and U Penn your GPA would have to be a little higher. But I think everything else you have is excellent and you should get into the rest of them. Thanks for the post on mine!

Carnegie Mellon - match
West Virginia University - in
Cornell - mid reach (its a reach for everyone)
University of Pennsylvania - reach
MIT - reach (just get your math up on the ACT:) but youve been in like math and science competitions so that wont really be a problem)
Virginia Tech - im
Dartmouth - mid reach (just bc its an ivy)
Olin - safety
Columbia - mid reach (again, ivy)

All ivys are so unpredictable but i think you have a really good chance of getting in to any one them! and someone suggested to take the SAT… if i were you i wouldnt because that screwed me over aha I got a 31 on the ACT too! Good Luck you can do it
your resume is very good!

thanks everyone for all the advice! i signed up for the act in april so im gonna try to get those math and science scores up. i think i can for the math its the science im worried about… its weird im good at science but for some reason i cant get a high science score on the act. i think im gonna sign up for the math 2 and chemistry subject tests in june. maybe english too just for the heck of it.

yeah I got a 27 on the science too! The science section really depends because I got a 29 the first time and then for a 27. It really depends on the test. The time I got a 29, i thought science was so easy and the time I got a 27, i thought the science was impossible. its ■■■■■■■■ but i think you can get your math up I got it up from a 32 to a 35. so good luck

I took the Math 2 and its really not that bad. Like I was too lazy to study so I like looked over it the day before. And on it, theres just like tricks and formulas that u can memorize on the practice Math 2. The same questions with differnt numbers were on the real one. haha but I mean I didnt get a over a 700 but i got a 680 so i guess its okay haha

Your academics are very good, your co currics are decent and your leadership stuff is excellent, so i think that you’d be able to get into most of those schools, but of course admissions are always really unpredictable. THe only thing dodgy is your science ACT but if you have other impressive qualifications that should be fine…

Your resume is basically perfect… I dont think any school is out of reach for you
WVU, Virginia Tech, and Olin - definitely in
Carnegie Melon - mid safety
and then the rest you have a really really good shot but no one ever knows… after a point, its the flip of a coin
you’ll probably get into half of them, be wait listed at a couple, and be denied by one or so

Good luck! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/864947-final-chance-thread-i-promise-will-chance-back.html#post1064105453</a></p>

match at all of them except the ivies and MIT.
You should consider raising that ACT score, probably to at least a 34.
Do you have any AP’s?
The summer camps look great!
Good luck!!

again thanks for the advice! my school doesnt offer many aps. until this year u couldnt take an ap til junior year. this year im taking ap english language. next year i will be taking ap english lit and ap calc.

Yes, everything looks pretty good, but nothing that really really stands out. It’s like you’re “average in your excellence.”

[Chance me back?](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/866056-chance-columbia.html)

Carnegie Mellon, Virginia Tech, and Olin are pretty much good matches. and WVU is definitely a safety. But for the others, you need something really outstanding like a passion. show that in your essay?

Your only real maybes are MIT and Columbia. The rest seem pretty solid :)

cornell-low reach

once again id like to thank everyone for all the advice. i can see what u mean by “average in your excellence” lol. what would you reccomend i do about it?

any other advice?

I’d say you have a good shot everywhere… especially since you’re female interested in the sciences. Also if you’re looking into Olin why not Cooper Union? Olin gives half scholarship while Cooper gives a full.

actually ive been looking into cooper union. i think once i get my sat scores im gonna post an updated chance thread cuz there r some colleges i want to add and some i want to remove. thanks!

anyone else have some advice for me?
