<p>international student looking to apply this year.
New Zealand citizen
GPA: I do IB. Predicted score 42/45
SAT M800 W760 R600 (2160) and M760 W710 R680 (2150)
SAT II M 800 Chem 690 </p>

<p>EC's
varisty basketball 2yrs won several awards in basketball including second place in nationals during middle school
basketball coaching middle/junior schools
varsity tennis 2yrs
tutoring in & out of school
ALOT of volunteer work
Few cultural activities (musicals, piano solo performances etc)
national evaluator for FPS middle school/junior school division (Future Problem Solving)
Other school activites (UNESCO, Korean Club chair etc)
(not sure if this is relevant but did 6+yrs of alter service :p)</p>

<p>Im looking to study BME but my information on us colleges is really shallow.
Currently looking at....
Johns Hopkins (first in my list)
UC Berkeley
CMU
Columbia
Duke
Yale</p>

<p>Please advise me if there are other fantastic BME colleges where i will be a competetive applicant.

<p>Also, im debating whether i should retake SAT I or try getting better/more SAT II scores. Any suggestions?</p>

<p>Your scores are outstanding along with your EC’s. The only thing I’d recommend is to increase your SAT’s. Don’t get me wrong that your score now isn’t good because it is, but it will only increase your chances in getting into these tough schools</p>

<p>Thank you for the reply! its just so hard to get a score over 2200. Whenever i do well in one section i do poorly in another and bring my score down. </p>

<p>SATs are superscored, meaning that you can take your best score from each section.</p>

<p>Columbia and Yale are high reaches, but that’s how it is for everyone. You should get into the other schools.</p>

<p>Thanks for the reply everyone. The answers are quite different from what I expected. I thought my grades and ec’s weren’t good enough for any of these schools o.o </p>

<p>I think you have a fairly good chance at these schools. Your SATs are good and ECs are extensive. I think they appreciate a well rounded student. Good Luck!
