<p>Hey guys, I wanna apply to columbia fu engineering school. Here's my basic info:</p>

<p>Race/Ethnicity: hispanic
Applying: Early decision (btw how much exactly does ed help your chances? just wondering..)</p>

<p>SAT IIs:
math II subject test: 800
chem subject test: 700
spanish subject test: 690</p>

<p>SAT Reasoning:
math: 780
reading: 710
writing: 800
total: 2290</p>

<p>GPA: 3.6 unweighted. all classes are honors/APs/IBs. Plus, i go to a very selective nationally ranked high school.</p>

<p>extracurriculars: pres/founder of two clubs at school, heavily involved in chemistry research program and I've had my paper published a few times, also i've been working at tutoring centers and personal tutoring places since 7th grade.
Also: jv tennis, national honor society vice president, worked at a programming company as an assistant sort of, interned at a lab, and i've participated in several science fairs and won one regionally, and participated in national history day</p>

<p>essay: haven't written yet, but i intend it to be amazing :]
teacher recs: they'll be good from teachers w/PhD's</p>

<p>Wow…I would say you have a really good shot…
Your SAT’s look amazing and although your GPA may be a just a little low for IVY’s standards, your SAT’s, Recs, and EC’s should definetly overcome it…
