Hi, I'm just curious to see if I have a chance at a few schools before I actually apply later this year. I'll be a senior next year... ^^;

No leadership anything. :|

My recs & essay should be pretty good.
I'll be National Merit Semi finalist if that counts for anything.

Thanks for chancing, and suggestions are always welcome. : )
If I have no chance...I'd still like to know. :p

You have a very solid academic record, I would say you have a fairly high chance for cornell , washu and notre. Your transcript is good enough for upenn, but with like a 15% acceptance rate even people with super grades get rejected, so good luck!!

Apply ED to UPenn to maximize your chances of getting in.

Well it’s pretty Asian. Remember, these colleges get thousands of (Asian) apps that are just like this. I suggest you really utilize the summer to do some really cool EC and stand out from the crowd. Nevertheles, ED at Cornell’s is… I’d almost like to say low reach.

Thanks for chancing, yes I’m aware it’s pretty Asian LOL.
I’m hoping to find something interesting to do in the summer for that reason.

Just curious, why do I have a better chance ED?
I haven’t really considered ED at all…does it help to apply Early Action if not ED? :/

Thanks. : )

Penn only has ED. and the adcoms see applying ED as showing interest thus making the acceptance rate for ED higher. If you want to go to Wharton, applying ED will put it within reach imo. Because Cornell is almost a safety for you, you should just apply there regular decision in January.

“pretty Asian” is not a good position to be in, especially in Ivy League schools. Not much stands out, and the entire thing just screams a book worm type of student. High scores + GPA, but really nothing else. That is not the mold of an Ivy student. I’m having a hard time seeing Cornell, UPenn, and Wash U. I don’t know much about ND.

Thanks for chancing. : )

geekorathletic: Haha yes, I’m aware of that.
Which is why I made this thread to see if I had any sort of chance. ;;
Thanks for chancing.

If you could get a leadership position somewhere, that would be awesome. You look like a great candidate for those schools–best of luck!

Thanks for the suggestion and thank you. : )

Bump, I’d love to hear other opinions/suggestions. : )

You should do ED because your ECs aren’t particularly strong (too general)
