I just completed the 11th grade and, of course, am looking at this point towards college. I'm in California, which means I have interest in many UCs, but I also am considering Ivy Leagues and other out-of-state universities--most notably Columbia University, USC, and Northwestern University--since I want to pursue a career in mass communications/journalism while potentially minoring in marketing. Please chance me!

Class rank: Top 5% (out of 388 students)

Other qualifications/awards/etc.:
-Won Sugihara Fellowship Award for ADL in 11th grade by being selected for writing an essay and winnings 2nd place; chosen from over 100 students around the nation who went on an ADL-sponsored National Youth Leadership Mission to Washington DC; for more information, see The Grosfeld Family ADL National Youth Leadership Mission
-Worked as a tutor at my school's Homework Center through all of junior year (twice a week), got paid about $500 over the year, plan to continue working at HW Center in senior year
-Involved in Speech & Debate all 4 years of high school, but haven't occupied any leadership positions; earned Championship trophy at a major invitational in Freshman year

Please chance me based on my stats! My dream school would be Northwestern--would applying ED there help my chances? Also, please advise me if there are any "holes" that I should fill--i.e. get a job, do volunteering, etc. that would boost my chances.

Thanks!
