I think this is a good plan. SCU ED acceptance rate is closer to 70 to 80% vs 50%. Many kids from our school apply here and we were told Ed does have an advantage in this school Good luck.

Common Data Set (CDS) - Santa Clara University → based on this last two years the ED acceptance rate is 82%

Ok hi!! I ED’d to SCU. I = don’t know if it’s a shot in the dark or I should be cautiously optimistic. Thoughts?

South Carolina => likely, no honors college

Loyola Chicago => safety

Northeastern => no

Miami Ohio => 50-50

UTK => likely

Indiana => likely

CofC => likely, no honors college

Loyola Marymount => is that LMU LA? if so, unlikely

DePaul => safety

Chapman => reach

UCONN => reach

University of San Diego => reach

San Diego State University => reach

Loyola New Orleans => likely

Penn State => branch/ if you chose Altoona or Harrisburg, likely, if one of the non4y colleges safety, UP reach.

UWash => no

Santa Clara => with ED still a reach but not unreachable, so brace for a deferral but fingers crossed they admit you right away! :crossed_fingers:

Thanks so much for the update, and hope you keep them coming. Congrats on the acceptance (and $) to Loyola Chicago!

Next update! Depaul with presidential scholarship!! (100k)

Congratulations!!!
I knew DePaul would come through.

The next admits based on my estimates would be Loyola New Orleans, CoC, UTK, PSU Altoona/Harrisburg (* ) :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:
(Apply to Honors at CoC, you never know and it’s a good benefit.)

Note: wrt scholarships - once you’ve stopped celebrating of course :wink::smile::confetti_ball: - don’t look at the total amount of money they give you but rather at what your net price would be.
An 80k scholarship at school A is worth more than a 100k scholarship at school b if school A has 65k direct costs and school B has 85k direct costs (45 v. 60k a year).

Thanks for updating this thread. :+1:It’ll likely be linked in the "Parents of B+ students"forum, will be very useful to other students, and for us adults/readers/commenters, it’s so nice to have updates, especially when they’re good news! :slightly_smiling_face:

(*
 if you get Altoona and you really really really wanted UP you could always try and ask for “reconsideration: DUS&Summer”. You can head to the PSU EA discussion for further explanation and discussions.
