Hey guys! I'm currently a senior in high school, I'm white, and I go to a pretty big public high school in New Jersey.

My GPA is 3.53UW and 3.90W. I'm also in the top 15% of my class (51/aprox 400). My grades are pretty good, but I know they're not the best. I got a C+ in pre-calc honors in my sophomore because of a particularly difficult teacher, and a C+ in freshman year world history honors. My grades in my junior year were MUCH better than those in my Sophomore and Freshman years. All of my classes have been honors or AP except for sophomore English and History and my electives.
I've taken/am taking these AP classes:
AP Economics (Micro and Macro) -2 and 3, respectively.
AP US History -4
AP Language and Comp -4
AP Calc AB
AP European History
AP Literature and Comp
AP Chemistry
AP Psychology

I received an AP Scholar award for 2012, but I'm not planning on sending these scores out for admission.

My SAT scores were pretty good, but my ACT scores were much better. I took the SAT at the beginning of October and I felt much better about it than I had previous tests, so fingers crossed!
ACT April 2012
Math: 34, Reading: 31, Science: 32, English: 29, English+Writing: 28, Essay: 9
SAT March 2012
Math: 680, Writing: 670, Reading: 550, Essay: 9
SAT June 2012
Math: 670, Writing: 660, Reading: 600, Essay: 8
I also took the Math Level 2 Subject Test and I got a 710. I'm planning on taking Spanish with Listening, Chemistry, and Math Level 2 again in November.

Here are my extracurricular activities, I've tried to make up for my low-ish GPA with a lot of activities:
Social Justice Committee - Secretary, Junior year; President, Senior year
Environmental Club - Treasurer, Sophomore year
Drama Club - Backstage/Lighting 10-12th grades
Class Councils - 10-12th grades. Class fundraising, prom, etc.

I've also gone to the following academic/leadership conferences:
Elks & Prevention Links Peer Leadership Confrence 2012
Kean University Women's Rights Confrence 2012
Kean University Diversity Conference 2011
Volunteer activities:
~30 hours shelving books at my local public library
100+ hours at a local Nature/Summer Camp
Relay for Life Team Member
I also attended UIUC's Aerospace Engineering Summer Camp this past summer.
Awards:
AP Scholar 2012
School Award for SAT 700 Club
School Award for attending Kean University diversity conferences

My essay(s) are fairly strong. For the most part I'm talking about a trip to China that I took in them and what I learned that.

For now, I plan on applying to the BioMedical Engineering Programs at these schools:
University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (Early Action)
Northwestern University
NYU Polytech (Early Action)
Georgia Tech (Early Action)
Boston University (Early Action)
Columbia
Cooper Union
University of Chicago (Early Action, I'd go into Economics here)

I also have a few safeties, but I'm pretty confident about those schools.
So, what do you think about my chances? Thanks ahead of time!!! :)
