Reflection

•Weaknesses: GPA

have you already applied?

yeah I have. Why?

just wondering if you applied in time for the interview, which you did. I mean your stats are impressive and you have some cool things going for you, but there are so many similar applicants its really hard to chance.

do you think there’s a shot though? I’m kind of worried about my GPA being a 91 as most kids applying have like 4.0s at normal public schools, but I’m hoping that the admissions officers take into account that my school was ranked #1 in math and science and top 10 annually overall, ya know?

I would say you have a good chance. However, with schools like Duke that has such a high volume applicants pool,it is really hard to say “obsolute”. You definitely are well qualified.

Thanks. That made my day man haha even though its not absolute. Two other kids from my school are EDing there one has a better gpa but lower sat the other is applying to pratt and has same gpa + lower sat but he’s African American so… yeah. It’s gonna be tough but I REALLY hope i get in. It’s Go Duke or Go Home for me basically.

Are you applying to Pratt?

No Trinity… Why?

It seemed that you were more fitted towards Pratt (well with engineering and high physics and math scores). I’ve heard Pratt cares about the numbers (which you have) but you should be competitive for Trinity as well anyway

I don’t really want to go into engineering even though I may have the SAT numbers to go into that field. And the other problem is that my math grade in sophomore year was a mid B so i feel like that would put me at a disadvantage? Either way I’d rather go to Trinity. Thanks for your input(: I appreciate it.

I think you look like a great applicant, except the GPA worries me. It seems like Duke wants a high GPA regardless of where you come from. But your scores are great and you have alot of EC’s. So, wow them with your interview and hope for the best! Good luck!

My GPA worries me too :\ But I will definitely try my best to wow them with my interview  Thanks!

Any other thoughts? Any opinions would be appreciated :)

bump…

did you make it? :V

*asking cause Duke’s my dream school too haha

Could you please elaborate on what MIT Inventeam is?
