I am planning to apply to Northwestern, Duke, JHU, WU, Case Western, UMich, Brown , Rice, Wellesley and Cornegie Mellon.

I think you have a very good shot at Wellesley. I had very similar academic stats (34 ACT, 4 AP scores of 5 on my app; Multivariable Calc my senior year, 770/780 level SAT IIs) and was admitted early evaluation. And your extras look better than mine, too. One thing that I think is important for you (and everybody) is that you have a good Why Wellesley? essay. Show that you have a real interest in Wellesley and aren't just applying because your mother told you to or something. That's the only obvious reason why a strong stats student like yourself might not get in (well, bad recommendations would obviously be problematic as well, but hopefully that doesn't apply to you! :)).

In case you were wondering, I think you are pretty competitive for all of your schools. It's a good list.

Wellesley loves students good at performing arts (dancing, music, etc.)

Thank you both for the inputs.

I don't have dancing. But I am in Orchestra for 4 years in high school. Will it hurt my chances.

Can you please throw some light on how wellesley /MIT program works

I think you're pretty solidly in ED and with a strong Why Wellesley you should be in RD (showing interest, yada yada). The Wellesley/MIT program allows students to cross register at both schools. This means you can take MIT classes as a Wellesley student and vice-versa. If you take classes at MIT you are graded according to MIT policy and so forth but you get credit at Wellesley and most departments are much more willing to count MIT courses toward a major than say, that random class you took at community college one summer. I don't know entirely how the registration process goes but I know it's not at the same time for Wellesley registration. I think you have to contact the MIT professor and get permission. There is also a bus that runs to MIT during the day so you can get to class without a car. You just have to keep in mind that it's a 40 minute bus ride at best, so don't schedule an MIT class ten minutes after a Wellesley one. I know several people who have taken classes at MIT and they really enjoy them. It's a much more traditional big university setting as opposed to the Wellesley scene but they offer some things that Wellesley doesn't. I think there is also some sort of 3-2 program for Engineering but don't quote me on that. You can also cross register at Olin which is an excellent engineering school less than 2 miles away (and also has its own bus).

oh wow...
your whole resume, especially the research part looks really really REALLY good.
when are you applying?
i'm thinking of apply ED, i really hope i can get in. crosses fingers

Good Luck!!!!

You seem like a strong student. I got in with about the same GPA as you, and a 31 ACT. Your SATs are pretty good. I'm also a swimmer, too. :) Just keep on demonstrating your interest. Attend any Wellesley receptions you can, ask questions when you get the opportunity, visit if you can, and be sure to interview. Unlike most of the colleges I applied to, Wellesley is really interested in getting to know the applicant as a person, versus seeing them as someone with a set of numbers and test scores.
