Chance Me Please (ED)

I think I want to do business, but Im not dead set on it. I really want to go to UPenn though, and if the chance of me getting in The College is significantly better, I'll apply there rather than Wharton

Hook- Legacy (Grandfather attended UPenn)

GPA: 3.75 Unweighted (Attended good private school first two years)
-Jr Year: 3.875
Weighted its 4.3
SAT: 2110 (760 Math, 690 CR, 660 Writing)
SATII: Will take Math and Literature in October

AP's:
AP NSL- 4
AP Lang- 4

Taking 4 AP's senior year
AP Psych
AP Lit
AP US
AP Calc AB (no bc at my school)

I am also taking a Business Management Course at my local community college.

My private school did not allow freshman or sophomores to take AP classes.

My main extracurriculars would be Varsity and Travel Ice Hockey, and Varsity Lacrosse. I have a few more, but these show the biggest commitment, as I won a state championship my sophomore year (while playing for both JV (as Captain), Varsity, and Travel- I played over 100 games that year) and am the captain of my travel ice hockey team.

I'll have my coach write me a recommendation as a supplemental.

Decent chances with your legacy status, but your SATs are on the lower end of the spectrum.

Your best bet is to try and get recruited.

Yeah, if you apply to Wharton, chances are good that you won’t be attending Penn in the Fall of 2010. If you apply to the College, on the other hand, it’s quite likely you’ll be living in Philly next year.

Be sure to apply ED. Legacy will double your chances in the ED round. Even if not recruited your sports will help. Definitely apply ED to CAS, your chances are very good!

any chance of getting recruited?

Penn’s hockey team is ACHL DII, which means it a Club Hockey Team. I don’t think they can do any recruiting because the school doesn’t support them like an NCAA team in $ (the case for all ACHL teams, otherwise they would be NCAA)

“Yeah, if you apply to Wharton, chances are good that you won’t be attending Penn in the Fall of 2010. If you apply to the College, on the other hand, it’s quite likely you’ll be living in Philly next year.”

^ ^ That is completely ridiculous. Don’t listen to someone who is still in high school. Better yet, you shouldn’t even post chance threads. These people don’t work in the Penn admissions office.

Apply to Wharton if that’s where you truly want to go.
