Chance me please! Engineering schools...

Hi!
I’m applying to engineering schools like

Georgia Tech
UIUC
UMich Ann Arbor
Rose Hulman
CMU
HMC
UC Berkeley, LA and SD
UT Austin (maybe)

I know some of these schools are pretty hard to get into, and I just might be aiming a little too high, but I really don’t know.
I don’t really know if i should even try applying to colleges like Stanford, Princeton, Cornell , UPenn etc.

SAT:
CR: 690
Math: 800
Writing: 710

SAT Subject tests:
Math2:800
Physics: 800
Chemistry: 800

I study abroad in India, in a CBSE school, so i can’t really tell you my GPA. I once used this GPA calculator thingamajig and got a 3.96/4 ish?
But I'm in the top three of my batch of about 60 students in academics.
Also because it’s a different board, i don’t have the opportunity to take college courses, AP , honors classes etc. so i don’t know if that’ll bring down my chances.

Extra-Curricular:

Indian classical dance- Bharatnatyam: completed my junior level exam, passed with distinction. Have also performed several times under fine arts associations (since fifth grade)

Piano (western classical): Completed trinity guildhall exams grades initial to 4 with distinctions in all except a merit in one. Am taking the grade 5 exam this year. (Since sixth grade)

Music: Trained in Indian classical
Have won several competitions conducted by my school and by my music academy. (Third grade to tenth grade)

Community service:
Tuition and training classes (in English) for the under privileged (children of construction workers)

Assistant in two Walkathons (for charity) – Money collection and accounts handling
Helped collect more than Two Lakh Rupees

Organized and led a Bake-sale called April lilies for a children’s orphanage and raised Rs. 10,000 for them

A member of the Interact club – conduct blood donation drives, eye camps, women hygiene camps and fund raisers for charities. I have led a few of the fund raisers, and have collected enough money to fund hospitals coming to set up these camps.

About 250+ hours put in for community service.

Other Information:
INTERNSHIP: I did an internship at Tata Elxsi, an industrial design company for ten days and helped them on a project.

LEADERSHIP: I co-led the main event in our schools interschool fest.

I think that’s pretty much it, let me know if I’ve missed out anything, and please let me know which colleges you think I have a chance of getting into PLEAAASSSSEEE I’m really stressed out !

Thanks!

Georgia Tech- safety
UIUC- match
UMich- match
Rose Hulman- match
CNU- match
UC- B +SD match, LA- good match
UT Austin- match

But the out of state tuition for all these is about $30, 000-$40, 000 before living expenses!

Stanford- reach but not impossible
Princeton- reach
Cornell- less certain match
UPenn- reach

If you can afford it, I’d say apply to at least one of the ivy league. Your grades and SAT are in the right area. You’ll need to really work on making your essay stand out and get excellent recs but its certainly possible. You’ll never get in if you don’t apply :)

Thanks a ton ! =D

Try at least one ivy with your stats…you have a chance.
Berkeley,LA are all matches I think.
UIUC and GT are safeties.
