Essay: Solid, but not amazing.. tried to make it as genuine as possible. Wrote about S Korea experience- children living in poverty in what was considered a 'developed country'. Also talked about how I became closer to my Korean side, meeting others and expanding my knowledge of my own heritage and culture.

Intended Major: Aspiring to become a Psychiatrist.. not 100% for major, going as undecided. Minor in French

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Please suggest if I should ED or not, and if the FA will hurt me a lot.. our family needs it though. <$40k. And also would being mixed asian go against me? Thank you :)

Also planning on applying to Brown (legacy status- dad), UChicago, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, UC Berkeley, Northwestern (legacy status- mom), Tufts (already accepted…safety), Stanford. Columbia is my top choice though.

Great chance, I’d say.

You sound perfect for Columbia, I’d say. Though admissions are so wonky, you never know. But I’d say you have a great chance of getting in.

I’d say you have a very, very good chance.
ALTHOUGH:
Acceptances are completely random. ENTIRELY. Trust me. I’ve seen so many over-qualified people get rejected and under-qualified people get accepted. The admissions board makes their decisions based on so many things.
Don’t get ****y if you get rejected. A lot of highly-qualified people that are rejected do, and it speaks loads about their character. Take it for what it is and move on, if it happens. Brown is a very good school! That’s my 2nd choice school; Columbia is my 1st.
