You have great stats and I believe in Sept '14, you’ll be in a great place ---- but your college search wisdom can use some tweaking. Are you solely going to apply to a suite of colleges based on your “chances” and their “prestige”.

What if I say you’re a lock on them. Then what? You’ll shoot off 8 Ivies, MIT, Stnfrd, Caltech, Amherst Williams, UMich, NU, Chgo, Duke, etc?

YOU need to do some thinking about what sort of school you’d like to attend – and veer away from single digit numbers on some magazine’s “Best” list.

Are you good enough to be recruited for lacrosse? Your stats are fine for the top schools, now you need to exhibit the wow factor (a demonstrated passion). Is it dabate, lax, or German?

Chancing anyone for “All Ivy League” is actually pretty easy. The “All Ivy” designation is bestowed on the best athletes in various sports at the end of league competitions for each sport. So your chances will be reasonably good if:

You attend one of the schools that competes in the Ivy League,

you are an athlete, and

you’re one of the best in your sport.

The reason they’re teasing you is that Chance Me threads have no value when it comes to the elite schools. No one can tell from the brief summaries posted whether you have a strong enough extracurricular record to get admitted. Admissions spends countless hours going through incredible levels of detail on each candidate’s application, and their results can’t be predicted from any post here. If you’re academically in the ballpark and have a superior extracurricular record, then you are a possible (remember that your extracurricular record is half of the admissions criteria at Princeton). All anyone here can say is maybe you’ll get in and maybe you won’t. Anyone on this board who gives you an answer beyond that (especially high school kids, who love to chance other kids) should be ignored.

Also it would be more appropriate to post these Chance Me threads in the What Are My Chances? forum where you’ll find more people willing to discuss your speculated “chances”. This forum is more for questions that don’t revolve around your probability of getting in.

(During junior year, especially, a lot of people, including me, bought into that, but I’d suggest focusing on doing the best you can and on writing good essays, not what other high schoolers think of your chances. Nevertheless, if you’d rather spend your time on this, you’ll find a happy home in the What Are My Chances? forum.

I don’t understand your record of taking AP German IV and then senior year taking AP German V. I am currently taking AP French Language and Culture, and I am certain that there are not specific tests for different levels. The prerequisite for my course is French IV. Is this different in German, or do you simply get “advanced” credit on your transcript for them. When you report your classes on the common app next year, make certain that they are correct. An AP course is one after completing which you take a national exam.
