Attending public school.

Any chance?
If not, anything I can do better?

Thank you!

I hate to say this, but you’re ECs are nearly non-existent. Those 2 clubs at my school only take a few hours a week. What do you do with your free time? And what is your unweighted GPA? Unfortunately I see no passion in your ECs (any other awards?) You might want to aim for an easier school.

because of your weak ECs, id say very low chance of acceptance. you have a great SAT ad excellent grades so far this semester  I think if you add more ECs related to the environment you’ll be better off.

Yes, I was afraid that I have weak EC. But I heard that Ivy Leagues don’t like students with too much ECs because they don’t show any passion. If it’s not true, what should I do to improve my EC? Am I too late to join more clubs? Should I try volunteering at a library?

no, they don’t really want students with a lot of different ECs. they want people with depth in a particular area. you’re not as good of a candidate as both because you have neither… I’d say to greatly improve your chances at good schools (maybe not cornell though) you should consider shadowing someone who works with the environment, volunteer to help keep green, try to find an internship, take extra CC classes in bio or enviro, enter more competitions, maybe join scioly…

I had no ECs and I got in RD so it’s not impossible.

But you should probably take your SAT/ACT first… a 2280 doesn’t say much about the M+CR score. Like person above me said, just list your cumulative unweighted GPA. Weighted GPA is a useless indicator.

EDIT: You also didn’t list what school you were trying to apply for, there’s a significant variation in the range of acceptable scores depending on which school you’re going to.

Thank you for the suggestions!

My Unweighted GPA is 3.74, but it doesn’t include my junior grade, which may greatly bump my gpa

EC isnt everything. My friend got into CAS with average EC. That person did have a perfect ACT score and, although I did not read it, probably strong essays.

You have a medium chance. The grades are okay but the ECs could be better. Just write a killer essay and you should be fine.
