Yeah.GPA will be the death of me... but do you think colleges will be a little more lenient because I am improving? I kind of explained the reason for my low academic performance in my essays and I sent my mid-year report

Honestly, a 3.46 GPA isn’t awful when you’ve got it balanced out with that class rigor. Not to mention the 4.0 junior year looks very impressive, regardless of the weak 3.2’s you got freshman and sophomore year. However, if you really want a fair shot at Emory, you’re definitely going to have to raise your SAT score. Aim for 2200+. I assume you’re going to take the ACT, as well, which is good, because sometimes kids do a lot better on one test than they do the other. Your EC’s are kind of weak, but there’s really not much you can do about that now. In all honesty, unless you raise your test score I don’t think you have a very good chance at Emory. Even if you raised your score, your chances would still probably be slim. Don’t let me discourage you, though! Just study hard for your next SAT, because your potential score could be a deciding factor for you.

As for Michigan, they care a lot about high GPA, so again, you’re kind of screwed there… they usually look for students in the 3.75+ range. But they also care a lot about class rigor, so you’re good there! A big school like Michigan really cares mostly about GPA and scores. A 2080 to them is pretty good, but if you want a score that will balance out your weak GPA, again, I’d aim for 2200+.

Good luck, and hope this helped!

Thanks, Izzy ^_^
