Average SSAT Score: 74%

My teachers said my recommendations are above average!

I don't have alot more experiences because my school is only k-8.

Whoa Whoa Whoa. I know kids with SSAT scores in the 70’s at all the schools listed above and FWIW, I also know many kids with SSAT scores in the high 90’s at Pomfret and Peddie. @estruck12- If you apply to schools you love all the wonderful things about you will shine through ( not just the SSAT score ). Good luck with your apps and keep us posted!

Hi @estruck12. I’ve noticed u posting on a few threads (some that are REALLY old) regarding low SSAT scores and admissions. A couple thoughts.

Your SSAT scores are not awful and probably won’t automatically put you in the NO category. We were told by one admission officer that he makes three piles when he reviews apps. Yes. Maybe. And No. I think your grade/scores r good enough to get u at least into the Maybe pile. Once u r in that pile, the rest of your app (essays, ECs, interviews) can push u into that Yes pile.

You state that your average SSAT is 74%, what is your super score (score computed using highest score on each section for all times taking the test)? A lot of schools super score, especially for athletic recruits. How many times have you taken the test? For ex., my child’s best test (one sitting) was in high 70s, but his super score was mid 80s.

While some of the threads u were posting on were very old, if u do want to know where certain posters got admitted, etc., try searching by author name. That will provide u with a list of all the posts by that particular poster. I caution you that many people do not post admission results so u may not get an answer. Also one of the threads is six years old so I’m not sure that any information from that long ago would be reliably informative.

You sound like an intelligent, well rounded student. I hope you have an abundance of wonderful and affordable choices in March.

@PSM2013 ok thank you for your reply I am just really nervous about the application and scores and things. I am going tp take it again in jan. Im hoping for a much better score. Thanks once again!!!

@PhotographerMom Do those kids in the 70s need significant FA?
To the OP, try not to be too nervous or think that your entire future will be decided March 10th. You seem to be a great student and I’m routing for you!
@neatoburrito - Yes ( at two schools) and No (for the others) but stranger things have happened so I’m choosing to remain hopeful in this case! She looks like a great student and I’m pulling for @estruck12 , too!!
I think what no one is mentioning is that as an URM your chances at all the schools increase. So yes it is true that your SSAT scores are a low but you sound committed and like a hard worker so your chances are higher. You also have a good range of schools on your list. I predict great happiness for you on M10
