Please chance me for:
NYU Stern
Northeastern
Boston University
Fordham University
Columbia Univeristy
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
SUNY Binghamton
Syracuse University

bump! 10char

NYU Stern- reach
BU- match
Fordam- safety
Columbia- reach

Nice ECs, although low test scores

Super-URM? Nice.

Low scores, but good GPA. Reasonable shot at Columbia+Stern. In at the other two.

I noticed that a lot of people don’t know much about ACT’s. The person above me just stated that your scores are low. I think otherwise, except for NYU and Columbia maybe, your ACT is very nice for all those schools.

You stated that u need financial aid, I will highly suggest that you re-evaluate most of the schools on your list. You might get good merit aid but there are lots of schools that will give better need based aid than NYU, RPI, Boston, NEU, and maybe the others.

This is why I think you will get into all those schools (I’m not sure about Columbia, but I still think u are competitive): You are Native American. African American is nice but NA tops it all… there are simply not enough Native Americans to go around all the top schools and you are a very competitive student.

Since u have Stern on your list I will assume that you are into business, here is my suggestion for you to add (many may not have business undergrad)… maybe you can replace some of those school with these for better aid:

CMU
Cornell
Northwestern
… in short just look at the “best values” section of the USNEWS rankings. I found out that the aid I got from schools generally correlated with that list.

You’re Black and Native American. That helps. Alot.

Your rank is in line, along with your gpa. that assumes your course curriculum has been rigorous, though. If it is, then you’re set grade-wise. ACT is alright, but bumping it up to a 32 or 33 would be fantastic and make you very good candidate for NYU and pull Columbia within a more manageable reach. Everywhere else you’re in.

@Zobasity
THANKS! Yeah, FA is a major factor, which is why I’m going crazy with outside scholarships. My income is <$40,000 w/ a single parent, so I would think at least some place would cough it up for me. lol. Also, there are more a few more colleges on my list that I’m pretty sure I’ll get into, which is why I didn’t ask to be chanced for them.

Ok. Thanks guys.

Anyone else?

bump! 10char

You’re African American and Native American?
I’d say youre in EVERYWHERE (try for tougher Ivies, maybe – if you can bring your ACT up). Your scores are the only thing that’s lacking here.

Lol. I’m only like 12.5% Cherokee. I didn’t really think it would make that much of a difference.

Also, do you think my lack of significant community service will be a problem?
