i know my gpa and scores are pretty low
but do you think a good essay& and early graduation might help for any colleges?

Your sat score is fine… I don’t think you need to retake it. However, your gpa will hurt you for berkeley (average capped at 4.17 for admitted class during the last few years)

SD and Davis are matches, but if you’re determined to attend a UC, apply to Irvine as well.

The average GPA (UW) for Berkeley was 3.93 and 4.43 (W). Your GPA will certainly hurt your chances, but I would still encourage you to apply there. You wouldn’t know. At this point in time, try to focus on one or two ECs and try to be the best on what you do. when you can demonstrate the improvement on your essay, I think your chances will significantly improve when you do that. Good luck!

But his SAT is way above the average which can balance GPA. Not to mention that UCs are very anxious for more full pay OOS students. It would be hard to see you not getting into Davis, Irvine and below, and you have a shot at the others.

Oh, it’s Redroses again.

Redroses, Berkeley does not weigh SAT scores as much as they do HS GPAs, that’s why they don’t superscore SATs. If you want to get into Berkeley, you do well in HS and aim for top GPA scores. High SATs with low GPA wouldn’t make you get into Cal. You need to be in the top 10% in you batch to even get into any UC, let alone Berkeley. I will give you real cases:

RML- forget about Redroses.
She is the biggest ■■■■■ here.
