bump…
I know most people hate the whole hey I’m a sophomore thing
But I just want some tips… I just like to look at all the resumes and wonderful things people do… and i want tips on how to improve! Thanks

You’re #1 in your class – can’t do any better than that. Keep it up.
Your SAT’s – Writing is a bit low for the top tier schools, but probably not a killer. If you retake, hopefully that goes up. CR+M is fine. Perhaps take the ACT – why not.
Your ECs look fine – if anything, cut the list down to the few which interest you most or in which you’ve won awards.

Your college list – You probably need one or two more schools between Cornell-Brown-Penn-Duke and Penn State. NYU fits the bill, a couple of others – Say a Michigan, a Lehigh would round out the list.

Your college list – I think you have to visit these schools. All are great schools, but honestly, it looks like you took a list of Great schools without a lot of thought.

For example – Brown and Cornell – both Ivies. Brown-Urban, Cornell-Rural, Brown-Smaller, Cornell-Larger. Cornell more structured curriculum, Brown – no required courses. Both are great schools, but they’re very different, unless it’s to ‘go to any Ivy’, I’ve never understood why these two are on the same list (btw, you’re not alone in this kind of grouping).

So, I think you have to decide what you’re looking for in a school, then try to find a list of schools that meet your needs.

Otherwise, keep up the good work.
