The colleges I’m considering are RPI, RIT, Clarkson, UMass Amherst, UConn, UNH, and Virginia Tech.
I plan to major in engineering so that will make it even more difficult to get in.
Stats:
3.67 gpa from junior year
Freshmen year: all a level classes
Sophomore year: Honors Geometry, Honors Chem, the rest a level
Junior Year:AP Chem, Hon Precalc, the rest A level
Senior year: AP Calc AB, AP psych, AP Physics and the rest a level
Freshman year was 4.0 and sophomore year was like 3.8ish
My class rank has gotten worse over the years, freshmen year being 14%, sophomore 20%, and junior 30%
490 reading sat 580 writing and 650 math
I am taking an sat class currently and I am pretty confident I can get my math up to at least a 700 and my reading to a 600
extracurriculars:
cross country every year
indoor track every year
outdoor track every year
I volunteered for the special Olympics going into my sophomore year and helped out with a few races
I plan to join NHS this year and try to become a captain for a leadership position in indoor track this year.
I am very nervous because I am typically a very consistent student but I refused to drop out of AP Chem and I ended up averaging a 69 for the year.
There have been many major family issues since the end of my freshmen year and I plan to mention that in my application
I know I am far from perfect, but I really want to have another opinion on my chances.
So what are my chances? Thank you so much for the response!
