Interested in medicine/majoring in BME

Colleges:
Harvard (prob early)
Stanford
Brown
Johns Hopkins
WashU in St. Louis
Northwestern
Uchicago

Aaaaaaaand yeah. Lemme know please! Any advice, comments, suggestions, all appreciated. :)

Your test scores are great. I’m going to assume your unweighted GPA is great too. (colleges don’t pay much attention to weighted GPA’s since every cshools has a different scale or calculation). Your EC’s are numerous and good but nothing stands out as unique or extraordinary.

Chance threads are hard for schools this selective as so many amazing studnets apply, no one can really tell what merits admissions anymore. That being said, you are solid all around. That’s by no means a guarantee of admissions, but at least know you are good enough to be in the running.

Hey I’d like to know my chances too!

I’m half Swiss half Japanese, I have lived in France for the past year and I have my French Baccalaureate Mention Tr

You should create your own thread instead of jumping onto someone else’s.

Harvard: High reach RD or SCEA
Stanford: High Reach RD or REA
Brown: Reach (RD) Low reach (ED)
Johns Hopkins: Low reach (RD) Solid chance (ED)
WashU in St. Louis: ???
Northwestern: Decent chance RD or ED
Uchicago: Reach (RD) Low reach (EA)

Your AP scores?

If you are interested in BME, why aren’t you applying to Duke or even Yale? These schools have better programs in that field than all of the other schools you are applying to besides Hopkins. UChicago doesn’t even have an engineering program for crying out loud!.

I would knock off Chicago and Brown from your list and add Duke and Yale as far as reaches go. Apply to UCSD, Georgia Tech, and Michigan-Ann Arbor too as safeties (excellent BME programs).

5’s: euro, us history, physics b, lang, psych, calc bc (all classes i took too)
4’s: chemistry, bio (only took honors classes)
3’s: art history, computer (no classes at all)

I wanted a few reach schools within my state, which is why I have UChicago, though it doesn’t have engineering.

I also have Brown on the list as a “lower Ivy” (which really is ridiculous, they’re all so difficult, but there it is) and b/c I want to apply also to their guaranteed medical program. (I should mention that while I’m interested in BME, I’m absolutely set in medicine)

Is UCSD really a safety? The general consensus I’ve heard is that Cali schools are very difficult for out-of-state prospects, like myself.

You are good to go, in my opinion.

more more please! bump?

Apply to Yale, Duke, and Georgia Tech.
