Boston University (BA/MD for NJ residents)
George Washington University (BA/MD)

Thanks in Advance. And please be realistic.

improve your SAT and you should be fine for a lot of the schools on your list.

i like how your name is "to harvard I hope" and yet harvard is not even on your list. I think you should add it just to stay consistant haha.

^lol...

yeah, i agree with the above. Improve your SAT scores to 2250+, and you'll be in the running. A jaw dropping essay could very well get you in.

thanks,

and about the toharvard-ihope, it was from like 2 years ago when Harvard was my number 1 choice. Now i'm debating whether to apply or not. But, i guess i will give it a shot.

come on, someone please.

ummm, i'm pretty new to this, but your list seems impressive!
however, many of ur activities are in the grade 11/12 year (some grade 10), does this fact affect the impression you have on admission offices?

Activities in the 11th or 12th grade will reflect negatively only when it looks like the student just did them or joined to specifically to make his EC list bigger. A new activity in a proven interest (for example Robotics if science and engineering oriented), will usually not be considered negative.

Anyways in this case the candidate is fine, only thing which needs improvement is the SATs, other than that academically your fine.

But, the majority of your competition is academically fine as well, so you need to differentiate yourself in your ECs and Essay, hope you do well.

bump........

last bump... i more comment would be nice... even if it is just about a couple of colleges.

why arent u applying to harvard

If you get your SAT up to 2250 here are your chances:

Yale (EA)---pretty good chance
Rutgers (7 year BA/MD program)---in
Penn State (6 year BA/MD)---in
Northwestern HPME---very, very likely
Boston University (BA/MD for NJ residents)---in
George Washington University (BA/MD)---in
Johns Hopkins---very likely
Cornell---very likely
Columbia---good chance, I'd say 60%
UPenn---decent chance...Penn is extremely selective for regular decision...

Without the boost in the SAT score, however, I'd say most of the ivies are only decent chances

I can't help feeling Yale is going to be a reach: they have SO many applicants with as good SAT IIs and > 2250 SAT, and your ECs are solid but not outstanding, so unless you have a hook, I think yale is a reach school.
Columbia is incredibly selective too at this point, but I know less about them, but I think you shouldn't assume it's better than a decent chance.
I am not so familiar with the other schools.

only 5 to 8 students to ivy? wow thats low o___O

anyhoos, your ecs arent that impressive, and it might not give them a good impression that u joined most of it junior year

just raise sats and write an AMAZING essay cus currently, theres nothing that distinguishes u from the thousands of other excellent applicants

I mean to be honest, you have pretty good ECs but nothing really makes you stand out for the big reaches on your list, which I say are:Yale (of course as is for everybody) , and John Hopkins (IF, it is BME you're applying to) , and small reaches at upenn (maybe columbia also)

I would be shocked to see one or more rejections on the rest of your list.

Good Luck (raise the SATS btw)

P.S. (im south indian 2 haha)

Thank you everyone for your comments. i applied already, but wanted to reassure...
