THanks

i’m assuming you are a junior?
our brown ED results come out on Monday… you can compare your stats to those of us who will be posting our results in the official results thread. :)

Not great, but not horrible. If you’re a junior, get that GPA up and retake the SAT. Also, think about the ACT.

seconding ACT. I never broke a 700 in SAT math and got a 36 on ACT math… my superscore SAT is 2260 and I have a 34ACT, which equates to a 2280. i had to take a lot of practice tests, though. start NOW.

Thirding? haha ACT. I couldn’t break 2080 SAT with hours of studying and got a 34 ACT without cracking a single ACT book.

Thanks you guys

Anyone else? I reaaly want to know if I can get in

And yah I am a junior, and will be taking my SAT 2 in Spanish as well as the ACT soon…yay :)

“Anyone else? I reaaly want to know if I can get in”

What you really need is a dose of self confidence. For all your book smarts, you’re sure lacking in that area. Given your academic success so far, it’s highly predictive of a successful collegiate career, no?

Your chance at Brown? Poor – like most everyone’s. Will you be highly sought after by tons of school. Most assuredly. You might even be accepted at Brown and others on your list. But please relax – our crystal balls and tarot cards aren’t functioning at the moment. Brown isn’t the beginning or end of the world.

THank you so much for the constructive criticism, anyone else??? Ill chance back…

You as good a chance as most kids that apply. It is still a reach, as is the case for like 99% of appliants. Believe in yourself, keep performing well academically, try the ACT, and see if you still want to go to Brown, or other places on your list. Getting into Duke, Vanderbilt, JHU, and UChicago aren’t all that much easier, as is the case with Emory. I think you’re a match for BU and a high match for NYU. Good luck :)
